I really liked the movie. I have not read Archies so cannot comment on that aspect, but I think the team did a great job bringing the 60s nostalgia. As for all the criticisms about the acting of the cast, I mean it is their first film. what do you expect, an Oscar-worthy performance? The standouts were Reggie, Jughead and the Thank Youu character, Betty surprised me in some scenes with glimpses of good acting to follow, and Archie was alright. To be frank, Veronica didnt do much for me, but the entire cast did work hard. It shows. It may not be cinematic brilliance, but is not as bad as it is shown to be on social media ( although I accept it can be quite slow, but THAT is one of the charms of the movie!)

i hope they dont know or get to know about the hate they are getting for their performance i the movie but personally speaking i thought it was understandable as its their first movie and they should be given more chances so that they can improve, i didnt hate the archies it was 7/10 which means its somewhat enjoyable. dont focus on the hate work of turning that hate to love
edit- they seem like good hearted wholesome kids dont hate them too much
