19:10 Yay! Well done! And now I can finally clarify for you that the Quantum Moon *did not* kill you back in episode 6. You approached the Quantum Moon as it was orbiting around the Twins, switched to your landing camera (which meant you looked away from the moon, and it quantumed away to a different planet), and then in your confusion you re-oriented on the sun through the landing camera, and carefully lowered your ship down into the sun and died. Because the landing camera is black-and-white, the sun looked a bit like the same grey as the Quantum Moon, but you can see (in episode 6 at the 6 minute 30 mark) the solar flares through the camera, and the Sun Station just orbiting out of view to the bottom right. The Quantum Moon itself doesn't kill you (that was the misapprehension I said you were laboring under), it just zaps away whenever you try to land on it without using the Rule of Quantum Imaging. 20:43 "Also, whose [little] scout is that?" - umm, it's yours 😆 You fired it into the Quantum Moon, remember? Things always arrive on the south pole, so the scout landed there. 21:15 Ah, there you go 😁 28:50 Oh, wow, big brain moment! You just saved yourself a stressful journey trying to navigate the lakebed cave to a more direct hint that quantum entanglement requires darkness before the rising sand crushes you. Well done again! (Although the place with the more direct hint is the "something more to explore" in your log, and it seems the rock won't take you there if you've not gone there the manual way - I just fired up the game and tried in a fresh profile, and it didn't go there after dozens of tries - which is disappointing) 39:05 "Oh, hey, are you going directly into the sun, by chance?" - a comet's tail always points away from the sun, no matter its direction of travel, so the tail swivels to point away from the sun as it orbits around. I mean, technically yes, the Interloper does always get swallowed up by the sun late in the loop as the sun expands into the red giant stage, but seeing it near the sun with its tail pointing away from the sun doesn't necessarily mean you've reached that moment. 49:14 "How you doing, bud?" - while "bud" isn't specifically a gendered term, you saying it prompts me to note that Solanum is she/her. 50:57 Trying to locate the Quantum Moon in the system map doesn't really work, because it will move again when you close the map and thus stop observing it. You really just need to try to find it by eye through your cockpit window. Or you can park yourself near a world you know it can orbit, and spin around until it shows up. 1:13:37 Poor Hearthian, always getting burnt marshmallows 😁 You must have gotten the "Mmmm, Carcinogens" achievement by now, although I don't recall it coming up in a video. 1:13:41 The reason your hatchling makes that noise after eating the marshmallow is because they don't like them burnt, you know. Try cooking it without sticking it into the flames. 1:22:29 "Interesting that Solanum doesn't seem to move" - are you sure about that? Maybe try looking away and back a few times. 1:26:56 🤣
- To be fair, you DID say I landed on the sun and I was very confused until JUST NOW. I'm gonna have to change the death counter 🤣 - Yeah I was very in "oh god I landed on the moon" mode, and forgot for a second I hadn't recalled my scout yet lmao. Plus, it landed so perfectly next to her that it threw me for a minute! - Ah, that's why it's giving me that. Hm. I expect a bit more experimentation is in my future then? Preferably with less squashing noises... - Yeah, it's not gonna be in the next video, but I've now been delivered straight into the sun via comet. So that was fun. I watched it go straight in at some point so I've been occasionally watching to see if it's going in or not. - I honestly don't even know what clicked to get there tbh, but something did! - Somehow Solanum did imprint in my brain as she/her, I think I'm just used to using 'bud' for all the Hearthlings so it got transplanted onto her lol - Aww but I like the noise! I should probably stop tormenting the poor Hearthling though and give them a few decently-cooked marshmellows. For some reason my "achievement unlocked" isn't popping up for OW (even when I'm playing the game), but yeah. I have that one, gone in 60 seconds, and cutting it close. I also managed to get harmonic convergence, but I have NO earthly idea when or how I got that. - I did notice that she moved at some point! I just don't think I commented on it when I did (largely because I don't think it registered that she'd moved at the time). - I think I laughed for about 10 minutes after recording just over that 🤣 I have no idea what I thought that would do in the moment either!!
Yes, I apologise for saying outright that you landed on the sun at the time. I thought your edit with "we'll be right back" meant that you realised what you'd done. When it became apparent in later videos that you thought the Quantum Moon had killed you, I didn't want to do or say anything to draw attention to what I'd originally said.
