Learning this kata now. Think I have the sequence down - working on technique. Always nice to see it from the other side! Thanks for posting the video.
Fantastic kata. Great hip and stance work. Everyone is using their whole body to power techniques. Great work.
Great kata, well done to you all.
Came across this while looking for Kata videos since I cannot stand (And don’t have the time for) watching the blurry videos we have at our club, but looking further into your club it appears we have the same systems (Shorin-Ryu & Shudokan), currently learning this Kata, but over in our club in the United States, we do the 45 degree version which kinda throws me off a bit but I’m sure I can figure it out. Still better than those blurry late 90’s videos though. Will most certainly check out your other videos and perhaps grab some tricks to improve my older Kata so I can also help improve the newer students’ form.
Thanks for posting. :o)
Excellent kata; good power and focus.
Very close considering to Hohan Soken kata.
U guys should relax and not be so rigid
No kiai no is kata ¬¬
Oops. Go look at Funakoshi's book from 1925
entitled "Karate-Jutsu". You show me just one place
in those 15 katas where there is instruction to 'Kiai'.
All that came years later from the dominance of other
marital arts at the time. Many Masters will not Kiai as
it is a sign of ego. Many times strength is subtle. Just
remember to breathe and all is good.
Shorin Ryu is a great style! Okinawa
