- Peter G3OJV, uncovers a Loop Antenna Designed published back in 1984. This could be an ideal Small Garden project requiring almost zero garden width and a length of 44ft (1984 Values).

I find your videos to be extremely informative and delivered in plain language without the techno-jargon heard on many channels today. Yours has become my go to UA-cam channel. Thanks from Arizona.
A very thorough explanation and easy to understand. Thank you!
I had a 25ft by 5ft horizontal loop in my attic for a while. I fed it with RS 300ohm TV twinlead into a 4:1 balun and an LDG tuner. I had it open at the opposite corner from the feedline. I wanted to put a remote switch at that corner to I could open and close the loop, but never got around to it. The loop worked pretty well in that I was able to work all continents on it using around 30 watts on digital modes like PSK31. It did have some strange radiation characteristics though, like it was weak towards the northwest on 20 and not so good towards South America on 15, yet on I could routinely work Japan on 17 during the afternoon. I got into Europe regularly on 40 and 30. I had to take it down when I had some work done up in the attic and don't think I can put it back up there due to things like ductwork, etc, being moved around.
Wonderful video, keep up the good work.
Interesting info.
Thank you Peter, could well fit in mine.
Hope it works out.
I'm going to have to try this build, thanks Peter!
Please do.
Simple rule is, if it loads up try it, you can always reuse the bits. Saw one of your ads in Wireless from the 70's and you going on about Small Garden Approved antenna on offer.
Nice. BTW I never pay too much attention to polarization of HF skywaves... 🙂
Thanks

I don't know how I would get on with this given the new Ofcom EMF regulations!?
