    I have to agree with Chris Pallas in the comments. This is a very Ozric-esque sounding piece of music. Ozric Tentacles has
    been a favourite of mine for well over 20 years now. Great job with creating good music.

    First of all, let me say you play the closest sounding music to the Ozrics (which for me is an awesome thing). many kudos to you sir for the time and effort you've spent on your synths-sounds-creativity!
    Secondly, could you give some rough tips on how to create this trademark Ozric sound, the dreamy arpeggiator fading-in and getting wonderfully blended in the mix until the next sequence is played etc etc... Is it possible to reproduce this kind of sound in other synths except the Supernova? (please excuse my ignorance on sound synthesis, I just need a little boost to dive in this world)
    Thank you and keep on playing a w e s o m e music!

    • @athaphian
      @athaphian 4 роки тому +3

      Can’t say how he did it, but as long as you use an external sequencer or software like Live, it should be possible to produce most of these sounds, or sounds like it, on any other subtractive synth. Just keep in mind that this particular synth has 8 different ‘channels’ that can sound at the same time (multitimbrality), not all synths have this. This synth definitely has a more mellow character, but something like a virus ti should be capable. If you (or anyone reading this) wants to learn how to compose these things I think you should try to recreate parts of this jam as an excercise.

    This is a fantastic piece of 'Balearic' ambient music.
    Reminds me of my trips to Ibiza, laying in the sun on 'Aguas Blancas' :-)
    Altough I own quite some synths, I am looking forward to buy the SuperNova II. You can find them at low prices now.
    Keep up the good work !

    Hey,
    I was wondering how you made the sound effect (flutter) @ 3:10 into the jam? Is that the LFO? I know Ozric Tentacles uses this synth and I am wondering if that's the only synth that can make those sound effects like that? Thanks alot. Cool jam dude

    Which Supernova II kbd is this; standard, Pro or Pro X? Do you have any problems with clipping if the oscillator or program levels are too high?

      I'm thinking about buying one, can you tell me if it has a sequencer inside?
      I mean, I would like to play some live tracks with drums, bass, harmony and melody, just as you do. Do you think it's possible with only one Supernova II ?

    • @PLASMA22280

  • @leeholman7117
    @leeholman7117 5 років тому

    SOOOO.... I AM TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THIS... Sorry.. didn't mean to caps... Anyways... So, this is live right? And you are only using sounds from the 2 Supernovas??? You say 8 "multi parts"... Maybe that's what I don't understand... What I am confused about, is how is all that sound coming from 2 synths??? I have been debating on what synth I am getting next, and I am leaning towards a Supernova, so I am just not very familiar with them. BUT, if ALL of that sound is made by them, YOU JUST HELPED ME MAKE MY DECISION!!! Besides digging the tone, I REALLY dig what you are doing!!! I am not big into electronic music, so, when I find something that I like.... IT IS SAYING A LOT!!! YES, I PLAY SOME ELECTRONIC MUSIC, AND DON'T REALLY LISTEN TO MUCH OF IT!!! The stuff I do like, is when people are creating it, and playing it live!!! Not DJ stuff. It's one thing to make some stuff at home, the hit play, and yell "put your hands in the muthafuckin air!!!".... IT'S A WHOLE 'NOTHER THING TO BE ABLE TO RECREATE IT, FROM SCRATCH, LIVE ON STAGE!!! WHICH IS WHAT I DO!!! I don't have any ill will, or anything bad to say about dj's/producers... I just can't get into it. I don't understand how that is a thing!!! What's the difference between that, and a band going on stage and hitting play on an audio file, and lip syncing, and playing fucking air guitar??? THE ONLY DIFFERENCE I SEE IS THAT A BAND WOULD NEVER GET A GIG, AND IF THEY DID, THEY'D BE LAUGHED/BOOED OFF THE STAGE!!! THAT IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL ABOUT DJ'S, EXCEPT MAYBE EVEN WORSE, BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY NEVER PLAYED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! THEY PROBABLY CLICKED A MOUSE, AND DREW IN MIDI NOTES!!!!! SO, IN MY MIND, THEY ARE EVEN WORSE THAN THE BAND THAT GOES AND LIP SYNCS AND PLAYS AIR GUITAR!!! SORRY, OFF TOPIC!!! ANYWAYS... I'M SORRY. I DO REALLY DIG SOME DJ STUFF... I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE NOT PLAYING IT ASPECT... PLEASE DON'T TAKE OFFENSE IF YOU DO THAT. IT IS JUST A PERSONAL THING THAT EVEN I DON'T FULLY UNDERSTAND MY ISSUES WITH... SO, back to my original question... Is this overdubbed, or how are you getting more than one track out of one synth???

    • @PLASMA22280
      @PLASMA22280  4 роки тому

      hey!the supernova is multitibral synth. means that you can use 8 sounds at the same time.1 multi part=1 sound,8 multi parts=8 sounds.then you can sequence any sound of each part via midi(you will need a sequencer to do that)or you can switch between parts to play live from the keyboard with different sound programs.at supernova this is called perfomance mode .8 combination of sounds is 1 perfomance.each part is assigned to different midi channel if you want to sequence 8 indepented sounds.each sound with his own midi channel.at this videos some parts(sounds)are pre recorded to my sequencer(maschine)before the actual performance jam and some other sounds are played live at the same time from me with the keyboard.remember 1 part sound=1 track.hope this helps!!!
