is that little round thing in the middle of the axle prone to damage? they always look super fragile to me but idk

you talking about the differential housing cover ? or the hydraulic steering ram ?
the diff cover is probably (and needs to be) a heavy duty cover. the stock cover is thin metal and not very strong.
the hydraulic steering ram is not something you want to smash, but that is why he has a strong tube built around it like rock slider or roll cage

Yes the diff cover is a heavy duty cover and it does take some abuse. But you build strong, maintain and replace when needed!
