@@keeganitrealWe all deserve hell because of our sinful nature. Until we realize that and humble ourselves, then we'll have a better understanding of God's grace and salvation. Russell is talking about all sins and all sinners. Sin and hell is not just exclusive to gay people . Homosexuality is just one of many sins. Telling people that they're sinners (including gays) and needing God's grace is the only approach. Jesus and the apostles did the same thing in their day and were persecuted and put to death for it. The world looked at them as judgmental and evil. But they did what they did out of love and Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice on the cross.

By the German translation, are you referring to Luthers 1545 translation?
      If so, that's demonstrably false.
      It says:
Du sollst nicht beim Knaben liegen wie beim Weibe; denn es ist ein Greuel.
Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, that is detestible.
I couldn't find the other translations you're referring to, but they probably suffer from the same problem, they're continually updated/revised with new manuscripts.
Regardless, are both those translations the authoritative source for the accurate word used? Or should we appeal to the original Hebrew word usage? Which is Zakar. Which is Used 77 times as Man, mankind, male or 4 times as "child". So it's a stretch both logically to automatically assume (considering other passages like Lev 20:13 - which applies the guilt of both parties) that it's referring to a child, both logically and Statistically.
Disregarding that, how do you contend with the historical evidence against homosexuality in ancient Israelite culture? Furthermore, how do you contend with the quite obvious (Romans 1, 1 Cortinthians 6) condemnation of Homosexuality in the New Testament?
This just seems like the greatest motte and bailey fallacy argument ever. The same people arguing for supposed long term, committed relationships between same sex couples within Christanity, would have no problem condoning fornication, which has no constructed ambiguity about it's sinfulness.
Also, considering the marriage standards (hetersoexual) of Genesis 2 and Jesus' reaffirmation of it, a homosexual marriage isn't a biblical thing and unless they refrain from sex, they are still therefore committing fornication.
It's a sin, no matter what way anyone justifies it.

If they only understood our sincere love for them, the veracity of scripture, and the life that they are throwing away, both earthly and eternal. I used to not understand how the way to everlasting life was such a narrow path and that the road to ruin was so broad and vast. That few enter... and the majority feed the eternal fire.

Calling yourself a Christian doesn’t make you a Christian. Your repentance and complete acceptance of God’s word is what makes you a Christian. So many of these people will find themselves on judgement day screaming out to God to save them, and all He will say to them is “I never knew you, depart from me.”
Accept God fully before it’s too late. This world is temporary. God is eternal.

@@Johnathan_Porkinstein God says that if we love him we will obey him. Disobedience of God means we don’t love him, and if we don’t love him then we won’t be with him after death. “
Faith is often defined as just believing in God, but even demons and the devil believe in God. True faith is about obeying God. People misconstrue when the Bible says that good works can’t save us. They misunderstand it to mean that we don’t need to do anything or change in any way. That’s not what that means.
      James 2:26
“For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.
      Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
God is clear in that our faith is shown by our obedience towards him. Many have a deeply flawed understanding of Ephesians 2:8-9. What that verse means is that it is not our works that saves us, it is God. Our works have no power as we are only human. God is the one that gave us his mercy and his grace to even allow us to exist.

I always like seeing respectful groups. You’ve got several videos with individuals who were respectful, receptive, and overall nice to talk to. But usually the groups get rude and crude very easily as it only takes one of them getting offended to set off the whole group. But this group was polite the whole time, that one girl even fanning you while you talked for a bit. I hope this got them thinking at the very least

  • @UpsideDownNuthatch
    @UpsideDownNuthatch 4 місяці тому +9

If I understood her right, the girl who said she went on stage and felt the weight of sin lifted from her seemed to indicate that she afterward felt conviction not for being attracted to other girls, but for ACTING on those desires (as well as acting on her sexual desires with males, too). And this makes perfect sense to me. It is my understanding that a Christian can be attracted to people of the same sex, but it is the acting on those desires (or even lusting after someone) that is sin.
When she received the Holy Spirit in that moment, she did not necessarily suddenly start being attracted only to people of the opposite sex. It is like an alcoholic who has been convicted by the Holy Spirit and may still DESIRE to get drunk, but abstain from it because they have that conviction. Similarly, this girl’s attraction to other girls may not necessarily go away, but in a Christian worldview, the attraction in and of itself is not a sin, as long as she is not acting on it or lusting…or telling others that it is not a sin by waving a pride flag around, for example :/
Christians who struggle with same sex attraction can either choose to live a celibate life, or work toward reorientation (which may or may not be successful), and this is not wrong. Difficult, yes. But not wrong.
Fellow Christians, what are your thoughts?

I agree. I had this same conversation with a man who was homosexual yet claimed to be Christian. I told him this ultimatum; if your desires are more powerful and you love the flesh more than you love God, then you cannot continue to claim to be a Christian. If you want to continue to call yourself Christian, you must accept that you have acted on your sinful desires, seek forgiveness, and turn from them. Jesus said “go, and sin *no* *more* “. So either fall into your desires and leave the church, or leave the desire and fall into Gods hands

14Whenever I form clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15I will remember My covenant between Me and you and every living creature of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16And whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of every kind that is on the earth.”

They don’t understand that to enter heaven, they must come to Christ with empty hands, and that no “good deeds” will have any effect on their salvation. It’s a free gift. The book of Roman’s and Galatians are soooooo clear about Gods grace, and salvation is gained by FAITH IN JESUS WORK ON THE CROSS, and not your own works.
Salvation is attained by faith. You go to heaven by your true sincere genuine real faith in Jesus Christ. Thats the best compliment to God you can give, to believe in the Son of God and what he did. Not your own doing. It is this way so no one can brag or boast about their own accomplishments and works toward “goodness” because “good deeds” are like filthy rags to a holy perfect God. Nobody realizes the level of their own sinfulness anymore.
Read Galatians and Romans. English Standard Version for an easy-to-read translation.

Yes! It's really sad how misunderstood this is w/in the church. I'm visiting my mom right now & she was taught legalism so we've been talking a lot about this. I'm trying to help her see that if her faith is in Christ, she doesn't have to worry - and that the fear she feels about standing in front of Him shows that she's filled with the Holy Spirit.
If she wasn't, she wouldn't care about her sin, it wouldn't bother her at all - but she beats herself up over things that happened anywhere from yesterday to 40 years ago. God has already forgiven her & she _knows_ that, but she won't forgive herself.
It breaks my heart, it's partially because of her that I never turned my back on Him completely, not even during my rebellious years. She & my dad are saints compared to me! God put her in my life for this purpose, it is her voice that was always in my head saying "you might be able to get away with things with me & your dad, but God always knows the truth." Which I _hated_ as an older teenager & now I say it to my own kids. Lol
She's such a huge inspiration for me, and she planted more seeds than anyone else. If _I_ know how much she loves the Lord, He certainly knows! I just wish she could see it & stop allowing the enemy to scare her so much. She's beginning to get it though, not because of me but because she's studying like never before (you should see her "prayer closet" & the other closet with shelves of Bibles, Bible journaling supplies, notebooks, etc.).
She retired from a hospital & now treats studying Scripture like it's a full-time job that she's committed to with a passion. She's still inspiring me now, I hope one day she knows how much - but more importantly, I pray she stops worrying to the point of tears & trusts in her salvation by God's grace through her faith in Christ & His finished work on the cross.
Anyway, all of that just to say I agree with you. I'm seriously long-winded tonight. 😂

@@angiew2324 yes absolutely! I’m happy to hear you’ve taken initiative to help a fellow believer and family members with understanding some hard things. I struggle forgiving myself sometimes too. It’s amazing to hear she’s been taking here Bible study more serious. Studying the word more seriously answers all of life’s questions. The people who are confused aren’t reading enough 🤣

I was raised around athletes and I don't do any athletic stuff and I don't really practice athleticism but trust me guys, I am definitely an athlete I even go to burger eating competitions with my group of athlete friends, who are also all morbidly obese. It is through athleticism that I found meaning in life. - These people.

Jesus said "If you love me you'll keep my commandments". So if you support pride then you show you don't love Jesus, and if you don't love jesus can you still be forgiven of your sin?
