    I’m super glad to see you guys putting some sort of anti-seize on those bolts

      @@schneiderexc3557 good, watching mechanics put rusty bolt back in shit when they put stuff together give me anxiety, they might never remember but be the same mechanic to take shit apart again years later and complain and it is just frustrating to watch shit like that

      @@henrymorrey4150 my dad always said you have to think about the next guy! , it’s also nice when you take something apart and you see anti-seize, then you know you have been in there before if you can’t remember.

      @@schneiderexc3557 super frustrating to struggle taking apart bolts with no anti seize, especially on bolts that are almost regularly taken out on occasion…. Biggest piss off

    I was always taught to hook tips out. Not the old timers first time but safe is safe.

    I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that demands my equipment look brand new at 3 years down the road. My operators understand upfront what I expect. They understand it’s my money, my company, my equipment that pays their check. Usually an operator only gets one chance to put a scratch on one of my machines. End of story. If you don’t like it go buy your own stuff and do whatever you want with it.

    Why are you changing the counter weight? It looks the same, is the weight more or less?

    • @schneiderexc3557
      @schneiderexc3557  2 роки тому

      Same weight, needed to go to the paint booth at the CAT dealer

    Can't you paint the freaking thing in place ? Lot of messing around for nothing !

    • @schneiderexc3557

      It needed to be sand blasted and body filler put on it, that hard to do in the field.

      It's not really "a lot of messing around". Some guys drop the counterweight every time they move the machine depending on the weight of the machine. They get the biggest machine possible that will be just 80,000lbs with the counterweight and bucket removed. That way they can run a 100,000lb machine but still be under 80k for transport

    Going under the weight to rotate the resting blocks seems dangerous.

      The real danger is standing next to it with the lift chains detached without first strapping it to the trailer. Bad move IMO

      It should have been done before the bolts were removed.

    Is there a manual disconnect for the camera? Or does it make some kind of connection when the counterweight is installed?

    • @sbgalaxie
      @sbgalaxie 2 роки тому +1

      It’s a manual harness connection.

      I like my equipment to look nice, the operator usually doesn’t have a second chance to do it again.

    • @westonmorris2
      @westonmorris2 2 роки тому

      People do not realize what this equipment costs. For what it costs you have to keep it nice.
      Also after one guy scratches it up it’s game over. The next guy will make it worse and so forth.
      Good job taking care of your equipment and taking pride in it.
