Welcome to my hometown! Lusaka has a lot of hidden gems, I can recommend some places. Latitude 15 Degrees is great for night chills, especially on Friday nights. Lots of young people and a lot of happy visitors (Not foreigners but visitors). Great for live jazz music over a good conversation with new friends. Also checkout Chaminuka, about 15kms from Lusaka. This place is good for a short safari drive, spending the whole day there is more than enough.

I've noticed especially in matshonaland they hardly speak English, even in Harare. When I visited Zambia everyone was speaking English but perhaps that had to do with the places I went to and the company I had. So you may be right. South Africans on the other hand, yoh! They are like batswana, they look at yoh funny if you speak to them in English. Even at the supermarket the till lady gave me attitude, lol. But they are super friendly and very vibey.

Zimbabwean English accent has definitely changed over the years. Very few still have that accent.
