Really nice seeing this topic being touched upon a bit more in depth, great guide as always! I got a few additions though: As one person mentioned already , Swoobat being able to Super Fang makes it really great. Also, keep in mind that on the turn you are tricking the Assault Gear onto the alpha, it can go for a status move as the Assault Gear does not take effect on a status move already selected. (had that happen on the alpha mantine shown in the video, it went for Aqua Ring as I tricked Assault Gear) If the Alpha doesnt have any healing moves, you can also trick the Lagging Tail to ensure the alpha always attacks last. This way, skill swapping becomes optional as you dont have to worry about the alpha outspeeding your breloom after flipping its stats. Secondly, and this is really a game changer: Spinda learns Seismic Toss. You would be surprised how useful Seismic Toss is instead of waiting for Spinda to faint. Also, a surprising amount of Alphas have more than 200 hp, making seismic toss a real gem at weakening the alpha very quickly. I think with those additional things in mind, this is a team that can catch basically any alpha without problems and even if you later on arrive at a point of having a lot of alts, where time becomes your ressource in place of consistency, and thus a different strat being more efficient, having this team in the back will be very helpful.
@@lucassykimprobably the love ball Strat but it requires you to go for pnk apricorns every 6 hrs , preferably on alts too cuz you only get 3 per acc per 6 hrs
Finally an updated version, I had a lot of problems with alphas who heal hahaha, as always, excellent video dude ! Thanks for always keeping us up with the best strats for everything, you the goat!
This was a great guide. When I started playing I started going after alphas with whatever high level mons (with one to use hypnosis) I had and went to it. I caught about 25 like this, usuing ultra balls and occasionally great balls, but usually would get killed and have to reset everything. The worst was the alpha vaporeon which kept me at it for over 40 minutes. Now that Im done all the regions Im starting this team build tonight. Thanks!
Hello ! Thank you for your videos ! I have a few notes for you and your community since I've catched them quite a lot with a very very similar technique ! Team Leader: Cute charm ( Wigglytuff/ Jigglypuff have access to "Sing" which is nice to use to hard swap to Spinda !) (we need to identify which alpha it is and I put them in different categories) A: PVP/PVE(farm) pokemons: If the pokemon is used in pvp or pve with hidden ability, price of female will be equivalent to male price (even higher with right Iv's/Nature) B: Genderless: if the pokemon is genederless, you don't care about the gender... C: Breeders are those who are not very popular pvp or pve pokemons: price of female will be way lower than price of males (price of male is set according to egg group, Ivs/Nature) So if the pokemon is a breeder(3), I always bring a cute charm pokemon to make it Male more often. If the pokemon heals, you prefer loponny to switcheroo. Spinda: I actually have a Jolly 4x31 spinda (no need for spe attack/Attack) Having some bulk lets you use flash once or twice before Skill Swap, so you have evasion for all your team, not only Breloom Before dying with spinda, I ALWAYS try to throw a basic pokeball that will 100% make him -1 for every stat. If the Alpha is Not Bug/ Water, I take smeargle to the team just after Spinda Just Spore and Soak (or soak and spore if the alpha is plant) Try to hard swap just after a spore or let it die Golbat: ye, just spam superfang until the alpha has close to 1hp bulk make it wayyy easier for breloom to false swipe only once. It's only when the Alpha is 1Hp AND asleepp that I theow Netball/Dreamball/Timerball to make him +6 the latest possible when +6 everywhere, you can haze with murkrow and go back to breloom or smergle if still alive or any other pokemon who can make the alpha sleep
Great video dude 100% , small thing , ive seen alphas go indignant multiple times in a single fight many many many many times now , its not something that can only happen once so you might want a revivie for your murkrow.
Thanks for pointing this out! I tried a few times to make it happen multiple times with no luck before the pokeball just caught them. Shouldn't be a problem, but not a bad idea to have revives on hand just in case!
Yes this is a good option too! I usually find my golbat is more than enough super fanging so I find healing wish quicker but whatever works for you is good!
Thanks for this! I tried to make them go indignant multiple times in a bunch of tests but never got it to work so I assumed it was a one and done. Thanks for clarifying!
@@JinxedBoon I think it's a random chance after they're at -3, hence sometimes immediately changing and others you getting to -6 and it still not going Indignant. I think I've had it happen 3 times, but could be misremembering.
I'd like to note that if you're catching alphas for profit its usually ~500k/h using this team. This includes the money spent for timer/net balls and candies received. I have caught over 1100 alphas over 6 alts to test this method.

Good video, i didnt play lately, but my strat was this simple: 2 Nidoqueens/kings level 70-100 whit Superfang, when the alfa life is low, Brelom to falseSwipe and Spore, use dreamballs if is sleeping, if not, Turnball, and if the pokemon is Plant tipe, i go whit another whit Sing or Hypnosis. i use to catch very alfas in the 1º ball.
I trick lagging tail with spinda if he doesnt get ohko, so i dont just die when alpha goes +max speed/attack. Allows you to keep spore/sub with breloom until pp out
