It was light blue and had like almost a glued on very thin sole on it. It just didn’t make any sense to me as to why he wanted us to basically run barefoot 🦶. Worst shoes ever. Anyways….. First of all, great finish! Secondly, wearing any brand-new shoes that are too small and haven't been properly broken-in for a long race is going to cause problems. I'd be curious to see how these would work if someone used a pair that actually fit properly and were broken-in.

I ran my first marathon in some Nikes Free Runs 2010 version, It was my first one ever I had picked up running after a divorce and some depression and just tough times and I didnt know anything about running I thought it was just go run, I looked so silly in the picture of that race. Baggie clothes, frumpy body , no hydration and some damn terrible Nikes. So many people told me you’ll never buy Nikes again the morning of the race and they were right. I did finish it against all odds and it was the worst time the worst pace the worst everything but it’s my favorite time period.
I got a place in the Rome marathon and have been debating whether to run it as Forest Gump with the full outfit.... Maybe that's not such a good idea 😂
Reminds me of having to run in militairy with sloppy jungle boots and shin splints. Its all about puttinh your mind to it! Every human can go far beyond what theh think they can if the mind is right. Pain is an emotion that you can disable ;) right? RIGHT?!
My first race ever was a 50 miler and on the way there my friend who was running with me (and who has done over a dozen Ultras) said, "don't worry, all you need is your shoes and your water and you'll be fine" It was at that moment that I realized I had forgotten my shoes and we were 2 hours from home. So yeah, I ran a 50 miler in brand new shoes. Not Cortez's, but I did finish (and lose a toenail in the process). That was 2019 and I STILL have not ran an actual marathon to this day 😂
for those who wanna know, i ended up placing 4th overall! sad that it wasn't top 3 but happy to place in the top 5 :). Thanks for watching y'all!

Best shoe for city cycling and bikepacking. I use them to hike aswell. They are rather comfy and water tight.
