Brian had a very nice voice. i heard that he was a very kind and gentle man. RIP Brian, you brought great joy to thousands and will never be forgotten .
even though we never got to meet, I love and miss you Brian, Mick, and of course, Steve. May God bless you.
Steve said Brian was a kind gentle soul that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
@@cynthiahobbs8937Precisely because Brian was such a kind and good soul that I sometimes think he was called back to heaven. Only consolation, maybe God wanted him back, needed him... at least, I like to believe so
Brian is one of the best voices in the history of Rock and should be recognized more often. Sweet were perfect because all of them had a special talent.
Have to agree there. They were were on another level from all the other 70s glam rockers, I would even give them the edge over T Rex (and that’s hard for me to say!)
They were the total package and this video shows how good they were. The awesome foursome!!
Brian's Voice, when he is talking … adorable too :-)
four handsome good looking people with amazing voices and talent = The Sweet
I loved them in the 70's and I still do ...
Considering Brian came from the mean streets of Glasgow, that is quite a polished accent!!
@@justinneill5003 well to be honest, I'd preferred a bit of Scottish. Such a sexy accent.
Boy Andy had a great voice too. Dang all of them had great voices. Beats hard rock even in the 80’s.
The vocal harmonies of this band have not been topped by another rock band.
Totally agree. I can't stop listening to this, it's so perfect, pitch on. No autotune needed ❤
Brian s vocal range was superb , very underrated , fantastic group with some well penned songs by themselves
What an incredible clip. Makes you happy and sad at the same time ❤😢😅
God, how I love these four guys. I'm so glad I grew up in a time when they were around I feel blessed.
The Sweet's memorable physical appeal and individual charisma were a big part of their success.
The guys always seemed to be enjoying themselves in the spotlight, and never took themselves too seriously. A group of thoroughly likeable young men at the height of their physical powers and talents, enjoying their huge success and popularity together. I can think of a few po-faced British bands who followed them over the next several decades, who could have learned from their example (Oasis anyone?!)
It's perhaps ironic, that the flamboyant extroverts of the group were guitarists Steve Priest and Andy Scott, while front man, lead singer Brian Connolly, had a much more understated gentleness about him which was nonetheless magnetic.
Brian's powerful star quality and physical beauty - I know we don't often use that word for men, but it's the right word for the young Brian Connolly - meant The Sweet was never the same after his departure in 1979. The trio he left behind were The Sweet in name only. Without him, they couldn't hope to replicate the group's early success. Perhaps they shouldn't have tried.
A successful group is a sort of alchemy - a set of ingredients that together, produce sheer magic. Music history has shown time after time that a band generally loses its touch, when it loses its front man - or woman. So it was with The Sweet. Every success story has an expiry date - had Brian not suffered the demons of addiction, perhaps theirs would have come later and they'd have enjoyed additional hits. But let's not lose sight of the fact The Sweet was a tremendous success story - as evidenced by the immortality of their hits and their performances. Thanks to modern technology, they and their music will be rediscovered by generation after generation. That's how you live forever!
Magnificently said. We can only hope the vault will open and we'll get to have more Sweet gifts to enjoy.
Once again, Brian looks like an angel singing You're not wrong for loving me. He had such a magnetism. I like Brian on vocals
Indeed indeed, Brian. 🌹👈🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I recognize Brian often as a heard man on stage.... But I see Here, He could be very nice. Rest in Peace. Loving memories. 🌹 Andy Scott, good voice. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@wrinklies2167 That wasn't even a thing until the mid-80s. Probably chewing gum to keep his mouth moist to sing.
Oh my god I wish brain Connolly was smiling and saying hello to me
lovely to see brian smiling and happy looking
Amazing voices and Andy's Accoustic Guitar playing is absolutely awesome !
One of the greatest vocalists of his generation! Only the good die young, and Brian was the best. RIP Brian Connolly
They were awesome! All 4 had lead singer voices. RIP Brian, Mick and Steve.
Brian had that special something that made him so attractive. Beautiful smile. Fantastic voice.
He was an excellent singer and frontman.I miss you and your unique voice !!!! R.i.P Brian !!!!
Our sweet Brian 💕
Young and beautiful 😍
Forever in the hearts of his fans 💕
Sweet for ever. Eine sehr gefühlvolle Ballade mit großen Emotionen und tollen unvergessenen Stimmen. ❤👏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹😭👱♀️
2023 and still no one captures the sound of these 4 guys, their music will never age ,they where always a hard rock band ,don't judge the singles listen to the albums.
Yeah thats right, hard rock was always the real sweet even from the start with their incredible b sides as well as their albums.
I liked their B sides always more than the real singles that came out. Couldn't stop playing burn on the flame and need a lot of loving... As a 5 year old kid back then 😂😂😂😂
An "electric" band "unplugged", before it became trendy, but then they were ahead of most of the rest anyway. Still one of my all time faves. Got to pull out and catalogue all the vinyl I have of theirs! I used to go to record shows just to try to find import pressings, etc.
Young and beautiful 💕💕💕
Такие здесь они спокойные ,задумчивые не могу наслушаться и насмотреться на них. Просто классное исполнение.
Brian sure had a great voice, very sad he wasn’t recognized for his voice. R.I.P. Brian, Mick and Steve.
Lady Starlight is an absolute gem. What a truly beautiful song, their voices blended so well together. Can't believe Brian, Mick and Steve are all gone.
this shows the incredible vocal range of the band, classic
Andy is a great singer !! This performance is basically worth hearing and seeing, but Brian and Steve at 1:23 are just fantastic!!
So talented. These guys could do anything.
Brian’s voice is so soothing 🥰🥺. Not only when he sings, but at the start when he mentions the song and when he says “hello” I literally melt every time 😱🤩🥰 both songs are beautiful. Sweet has true talent! One of the best bands in history! 🎤🎸🎸🥁
It’s not easy getting 2 together that can blend that well, much less 4.
Beautiful song, Brian has such a beautiful voice and soul
I think that way too. Brian was singing beautifully and Brian is so....how can I describe that? Kind? Gentleman? Happily smiling? Where are you from? I´m from Finland.
There was so much more to this band than people might think. Such talent
So true. You peel layer after layer and just keep finding more hidden gems. Hate that they were labeled bubblegum.. glam.. whatever. They were a solid band that fought damn hard to get to the top. They deserve so much more credit.
Live! Une très belle chanson, nature, émouvante.
On aperçoit l'étendue des talents de mon groupe préféré.
Beautiful voice Brian!! Who said you couldn't sing after you were beaten up in 1974 and kicked in the throat. Did they ever hold the people accountable who did such a horrible thing to such a beautiful person as Brian!! We admired your strength to keep pushing through all the tough times....we love you!!
Hi, Pink Champagne, Thank you for always having the right and beautiful words to say about Brianˋs life. I happen to feel exactly the same way you do. Take care!
@Pink Champange I tried to see if they did, but I could find nothing where anyone was held accountable. That was awful. May he rest in peace.
Qué monstruo se atrevió a patear a un rock Star like Brian??? Espero que todavía esté en la cárcel el maldito envidioso
lepoetress I think it's terrible that no one was held to account for this crime. Just think that they might still be around living their lives as old men now, as if nothing had happened. I think this incident contributed to Brian's drinking problem, along with his hang ups about his birth/ fostering. So sad. If more rehabs/ counselling/ and knowledge had been available back then, his life might have had a happier outcome. I look at him there, with so much talent, and want to weep for him, knowing what was round the corner in his life.
@@celticvixen8002 you're so right....you said everything I've been thinking about Brian and the difficult times he had....thank you so much for sharing your thoughts....nice to know someone is thinking the exact same things I am...😊🎶
Nice to see them all highlighting their voices. How rare to have all four members of an instrument playing band that can sing.....and sing WELL.
These live gigs are gorgeous. I listen to Sweet since 1972...
Amazing harmony
judge not cathiianni unless you will be judge by jesus.meanwhile--ask my God and your God to cast out the demons that control your thoughts and life.Dimitri
Perfect pitch, solid harmonies, beautiful melodies. I'm so glad I grew up listening to this band. Desolation Blvd was my first album when I turned twelve years old.
Andy has such a great voice. So does Brian, Mick, and Steve. All four of them have lovely voices
Bloody everyone that hello and that smile and laugh of brain Connolly gets me feeling really wobley
Brian: Hello! *giggle*
Me: *melts*
Lady Starlight, one of the best Rock-ballads ever...
They are the most underrated musicians / band in music history.
Decades ahead of many bands of that era.
“hello Brian“ you are fantastic
Brian ist fantastisch und eines der wenigen Bilder und Videos wo er lacht. Meist wirkt er so ernst und manchmal richtig traurig
Wow! I didnt know the guitarist had such great vocal range, and varied expression! Rock star right there...
Andy has been one of my very favorite singers and guitarists since the 70s, he has it all ! AMAZING TALENT
Yeah Andy has a falsetto voice that's up in the stratosphere somewhere. Tremendous range.
And so does Steve. Andy and Steve could sing higher than me, and I'm a woman 😂😂😂.
Toll gesungen von Brian !!!!! Wunderbare Stimme 😆😆😆🤗🤗
Brian, the most beautiful man ever born inside and out 💗
He looks like a medieval knight...the handsome and somewhat melancholic Bamberg cathedral knight
I love this song🎶❤🎶
These GUYS 🥰❤❤❤❤
Andy ❤
R.I.P Mick❤
R.I.P Brian❤
R.I.P Steve❤
They are gods of rock!
They always leave me speechless. Four of the greatest Rock voices I've ever heard! Sooooo underrated!
man they were just ahead of their time ☝🏻
Beautiful harmonics
Beautifull armonies. Brian Connolly, the real soul. Great voice.
Вот в том то и дело,что группа исполняет любой стиль ,любой жанр песен ,тем и нравится,молодцы ребята .Песня супер!!!!!!
Happy Fathers Day to You(Andy,Brian,Mick&Steve)!!!!....Always & Forever!
Vraiment toujours aussi surprenant venant d'eux, mais quel plaisir a les écouter.! 👍👍👍
Underrated band, no doubt. Vocals are awesome!
Happy Birthday Brian 💗 5.Okt.2017 🌹🌹💟💟🌹🌹
Absolutely talented
It's truly amazing. Just a few weeks ago, I knew Sweet as being the "glam" band that did Fox and Blitz. Quite accidentally, over the last 14 days, I have discovered this hidden gem of a band, that is criminally underrated.
I've watched dozens of their videos and performances. They were incredibly talented and deserved a lot more recognition.
60s and 70s British bands were the best. No contest.
Join the club Mate.
I've just been doing the exact same for about 2 weeks. As a 10 year old in the mid 70s Sweet to me was more of a teenage girl groupie band like Bay City Rollers.
HOW WRONG WE WERE !!
ROCK ON 🎸🔊 🤘🤘
Didn’t know this one, thanks for uploading. SWEET so underrated. They were much more than a Glam Rock Band.
An amazing performance. The harmonies in Lady Starlight are so good. One of the greatest bands ever
Steve and Brian had complimentary voices. They sounded so good together in this. Steve was really underrated as a vocalist!
Of course, I would be remiss to discount Andy's vocals on Lady Starlight!
вокал Энди в этом клипе сильно напоминает вокал Фредди Меркьюри...даже не знаю что сказать
@ckandy6958 Very much agreed! Steve also had the ability to put a sort of theatrical vibe into his voice (supported by some delay effect), which suited so well to some songs where he had parts in between Brian's main vocals, like the sixteens and hellraiser. The effect can be dramatic or comic, depending on the song and how you choose to perceive it. A couple of days ago I saw a live version of Hellraiser, and I found the alternation of Brian's and Steve's vocal parts absolutely hilarious (in a good way!), as it happens so seamlessly inside sentences.
I believe though that Andy was the one who usually sang the highest parts, e.g. the last "aaaa" when they go "cause you're aaaa-aaaa-all part of the sixteens".
As all sweet fans know Brian was beaten in 1974, and his throat was damaged, resulting to a permanent loss of some of his vocal range. Was it before or after this session? Maybe before, and that's why Andy is the lead singer on the 2nd song? Excellent performance anyway.
I've read that several songs on Sweet FA had to be sung by the other members, because of that unfortunate assault on Brian.
Brian had such a beautiful Voice, it´s so sad that he and Mick aren´t no longer with us, Rest in Peace🙏🏻💔You´re Legends🖤
Sadly losing Steve back in June means Andy is only one left of the classic lineup. RIP Brian, Mick Steve! Rock for the King!
Amazing voices!!
My God that will never be another SWEET. THANK YOU
Mick and Steve smiling around 2:16 at that "diddip diddip" part.
I love it.They always enjoyed their selves even if they were being silly
4 very talented singers, and song writers. Wished we had them today. Sweet
Wow! That was a beautiful song.I didn't know sweet has so many songs,I only heard 3 songs back in the 70s and early 80s. Last week I was looking for fox on the run on you tube,my words there were a lot of songs by them. I listen to sweet F.A.and No you Don't wow that's awesome. I only wish they play that On the radio I think they be more praise on those songs.I think their fantastic and fun to watch them play.May God bless them but is sad that Brian and Mick so young to taking a way so soon.
I'm just sitting here wishing I could go back to the 70's. This is as close as I can get. Fun in the Sun, dancing in the moonlight.
Fantastic Performance!!!!
....and Brian´s Voice is out of this World........!!!
Fantastic. What a superb voice Brian had. Able to belt it out or sing beautifully like here ☺️
What I find so uplifting about them is that they genuinely seem to be loving what they do. In such a sweet way. Loved them in the 70s and love them more and more the older I get.
Sweet...immer in meinem Herzen.
You had me at " hello"....
lepoetress I wonder who he said "Hello!" to in that way, with that smile?!! I bet it was female!!!! 😂. ( Not jealous.....MUCH!!!!) 😂😂😂😂
Gotta love the acoustic ballads! Gives me goosebumps!!
Happy Belated Birthday to You Mr. Mick Tucker(Always & Forever)!
Wonderful band, from pop to heavy rock and ballads, And they could all sing in harmony. just beautiful.
Loved Sweet in the 70’s & still do. 🎼❤️🎶
I just love this so much, that they could all sing and did all the harmonies, supporting one another. The real shit right here.
This is amazing, they were actually pretty good musicians, singing live without autotune!
Yep they didn't need it. All 4 had excellent voices! Just pure talent.
Listening again to this performance 3 years later, I'd say that the harmonies of the 4 voices (live!) are really outstanding!
What a cool band. They could do anything and it wood sound good
This shows how great of a artist they are 🎸🤘👍
I Love Brian's voice so much when he sing and when he say any words to another people.
He is the most wonderfull people i ever know. R.I.P. my Darling
wish we could go back to 1974!....miss you Brian....miss this band so awesome!!!

Parabéns...nos céus Brian Francis Connolly..You live on forever 💕💞 🇧🇷
I love that they all sing. They are all so talented! Sad about Steve's passing yesterday. 😔
One of my all time greatest Groups, Loved them!!
Bless the beautiful, blessed the gifted , voice like an angel, Sweet shines.
"Hello" he's gorgeous and he knows it! I absolutely love this version of Your'e Not Wrong for Loving Me. Beautiful harmonies. Good singers all.
Yes! He and WE knows it - a extraordinary man - talented , virile , handsome
+GaBri Ele yes, and I love the way, after he has said hello to the camera, he almost looks embarrassed as he goes to take his seat! I also wonder if the hello was directed at any girl in particular! :-)
Eliza , i think , S. and M. laughing and making jokes behind him and he noticed that
+GaBri Ele I wonder what Steve said. He was always mucking about and making jokes tho.
A band with 4 lead singers...damn!!! Of course Brian was perfection!!
