When he said he was going to change to an electric motor, I was pretty disappointed. Then he came back with this nice simple mechanical design. Very clean, good work.
"I didn't have the bricks to do this part, so i did this instead" You, sir, have captured the essence of minecraft. Just figuring out how to make something work instead of trying to get the materials to make it "perfect" Nicely done.
I like how you spent time tryna figure out how to use a lever to activate gears and then in the end was just like oh yeah levers. Looks so good, wish I could buy one. I could see it being a full set or as a display piece at some con
As suggestions for another, if you decide to later on, would be to have the telescoping shaft, like in Bedrock, which should allow it to proportionally extend as far as it would in-game. Along with racks and gears in between, for the even movement, you should be able to have it motorized, though it may be slow due to the weight and taking into account the mechanical disadvantage. Perhaps having the lever control a gearbox on the inside to extend and retract it with each of the connected gears moving the rack(s) out of reach of itself at both of the furthest points to ensure there wouldn't be any damage caused to the pieces, as the motors continue to spin, while the other gear, which would be disconnected from the motors in the meantime, is still engaged to the rack to move it back when it's switched. I may be overthinking it and it could be expensive to get what you may not have already. Good work, though.
Too complex? You wrote a whole paragraph explaining something that would usually take a sentence to write. Not insulting you or anything im just saying its a lot of information.
@@avergreengreen950 I understand. As I put, I may be overthinking it and my ideas are usually complex in description, perhaps unnecessarily, though I wanted to make sure it was clear what I had in mind.
The moment I saw this vid I thought of a way to make the lever work that was literally what you ended up using. xD So glad you used it instead of those other complicated mechanisms. Good job! Looks great!
Could have dropped the inner support structure down one block and hid the wheels there. Attaching them to the piston beam instead of the piston head. Very cool video!!!
This is amazing, I can't believe how good it looks too... well except for the back of the actual piston bit 😂 but who cares about that, well done mate!
I love the design, the only problem i had with it though is that on the piston extender (The Tan part of the piston), in the back you can see all of the green, red, and colorful bricks that you don't see in the game. Maybe close that off?
I know like nothing about how much space the mechanics take up, but it’s possible that he can’t cover it up because the mechanics are in the area that the blocks to cover it up would go.
Man this is so awesome you put some much effort in to these hopefully one day your Channel will get the recognition you deserve for such masterful builds Keep up the good work
It’s amazing and honestly I knew you wouldn’t be able to make the piston life sized or extend it to the same ratio since it literally extends double itself and that much couldn’t fit inside the piston
This was a fun watch, I love your concepts and building process, and your fun narrating voice :) Some feedback I have for the thumbnail would be that the build itself is so huge, it isn't immediately recognisable as Lego; so audiences may only understand the concept from spotting the tiny logo, or (God forbid) actually reading the title. Maybe changing up the background in the second one or making it clearer that it's Lego would help!
