Yeah, I've struggled to find a lot of friendly players this season. The best 3 stories I have are a squad of players letting me live after we all did the bear hug emote, a player letting me live on the train after seeing me do the shanty for a squad emote, and then during the New Year's count down where someone spared me after I did a million crouches so I could watch it at midnight New York time.
