I grew up in the Catholic church and knew many incredible people of faith.. Father Flanagan. But even at a young age in the early 1960's I saw a disconnect between the faithful and the upper level of the church. Many seemed to be the priests that Jesus called a brood of vipers.

Many of us share your distrust. I was baptised on the 25th December 1962 as a baby 3 weeks after I was born . The church has been a large part of my life and I attended a Catholic boys school where I was prepared to meet the world . I married a Catholic girl from far away and we have been married for 34 years and have 4 children . My wife is far more devout than I , but I study history as a hobby and my favourite studies are of the ancient world . This story of Fatima first got to my ears at school in 1979 during Focus , as class we had that concentrated on Catholic issues. This story has followed me pretty much since then , and I can only conclude that it is true in every detail because I have watched how history has unravelled since I left school.

God is unchanging, and Mary isn't God. She made mistakes and needed a savior, or do you think she was lying in Luke 1:46-47? Mary was no more righteous on her own than you or me. Had she not taken Jesus as her Lord, she would've gone right to Hell. The Gospels are quite clear that she and her other children (yes, she stopped being a virgin after Jesus was born) thought Jesus was crazy at the beginning of His ministry and didn't really believe He was the incarnate God until His resurrection.

There seems to be a trend toward secret prophecies among modern Roman Catholic prophets. I grew up in the Catholic church and knew many incredible people of faith.. Father Flanagan. But even at a young age in the early 1960's I saw a disconnect between the faithful and the upper level of the church. Many seemed to be the priests that Jesus called a brood of vipers.

I was a Protestant before converting to Catholic...then leaving Catholism for alternative spiritual doctrines which have filled me with the kind of peace that I never had with traditional religion. I was baptised on the 25th December 1962 as a baby 3 weeks after I was born . The church has been a large part of my life and I attended a Catholic boys school where I was prepared to meet the world . I married a Catholic girl from far away and we have been married for 34 years and have 4 children . My wife is far more devout than I , but I study history as a hobby and my favourite studies are of the ancient world .
This story of Fatima first got to my ears at school in 1979 during Focus , as class we had that concentrated on Catholic issues. Apart from the Bible in general, and what is true or not true. "Revelations" is a doomsday prophecy, some say a vision, or maybe even a dream. Also it bears resemble to what people see and hear during a (bad) trip, after using mushrooms or LSD or something like that. And yes they did use "drugs" back then when the bible was written.

I was in catholic school in the 60s when it was supposed to be revealed. When it didn't happen, I felt that it had to be something detrimental to the church itself. When all of the sexual acts done by priests started to be revealed, I knew that was likely the third secret because it was going to slowly eat away the church itself. So much harm has been done to many by mainly gay priests who hid away in their positions and took advantage of their power. IF priests are finally allowed to marry, the church might be saved. God is unchanging, and Mary isn't God. She made mistakes and needed a savior, or do you think she was lying in Luke 1:46-47? Mary was no more righteous on her own than you or me. Our current Pope is a continuation of the decline of the church which began with the traditional Latin mass being stopped. The church is secular like a Protestant church and when Francis told Biden he could receive communion despite supporting abortion, it spoke volumes.

It was a disobedience to our blessed mother that Pope John the 23rd did not release the 3rd secret in 1960 . And a disobedience by every Pope thereafter. And this began in earnest with the Vatican II council.

LISBON, Feb 13 (Reuters) - At least 4,815 children were sexually abused by members of the Portuguese Catholic Church - mostly priests - over the past 70 years, the commission investigating the issue said in a report on Monday, adding the findings are the "tip of the iceberg".
"(We want) to pay a sincere tribute to those who were abuse victims during their childhood and dared to give a voice to silence," said child psychiatrist Pedro Strecht, who headed the commission. "They are much more than a statistic."

Strecht said the 4,815 cases were the "absolute minimum" number of victims of sexual abuse by clergy members in Portugal since 1950. "These numbers are just the tip of the iceberg," he said.
Most perpetrators (77%) were priests and 57% of the victims were men, Strecht said, adding that they were abused in Catholic schools, churches, priests' homes, confessionals, among other locations.
The majority of the sexual abuses took place when the children were aged 10-14, with the youngest victim being just two-years-old.

Jose Ornelas, head of the Bishops' Conference, attended the final report's presentation and told a news conference later on Monday the revelations were an "open wound that hurts and shames us".
Ornelas said Portuguese bishops would meet on March 3 and would look into implementing "more efficient and appropriate mechanisms" to prevent future abuses.
Among other recommendations, the commission said the Church should denounce all alleged abuses, provide psychosocial support to victims and continue the investigation into the issue.
'LOOK INTO THE PAST'
Hans Zoller, the Vatican official responsible for child sexual abuse cases, also attended the event in Lisbon. He said it was important to "continue to listen to victims because this will not be the end of it".
"There will be more victims who will come forward," he said, adding it was now the responsibility of the Bishops' Conference to inform Pope Francis about the report. "We (the Church) need to...(look) into the past."
