I really appreciate your (and Poseidon's) attempt to create nice bikes at affordable price points. I've always been a 'frame first' guy and it seems that that is Poseidon's design philosophy too. You've sold me, my son needed a new bike, and I just ordered a Flatbar X, which we are going to crank a little further to the roadbike side.
This is the way, you can get 95% of a high road bike with the Base X
You did an amazing job designing this bike looks awesome and geo specs sound very progressive and modern. Depending on the price point, the parts selection make perfect sense. can’t wait until they become available 🤘
First, Good Luck on your Enduro!
Second, if the price is right on the Poseidon Norton, people can upgrade when their budget allows. The point is to get people riding on bikes they can afford.
Digging the channel! Love the dirt jumper stuff. This is my backyard trail. Cool to see it from your perspective.
I'm 100% good with the fork. Maybe would call foul on the square taper bb.
But as I said before I'm only interested in the frame.
And the frame seems killer!
thats not a complete turn of is the lock outs qr or ta
Who’s this Eric that’s riding with a pump, I was totally expecting a long walk back to the car 😆
I've been looking at getting a Marin San Quentin 1 as my first brand new bike, sometime early next year. Wondering if maybe I should wait for this lol.
I think it’d be interesting if it was sold with a rigid carbon fork and you bring your own suspension fork if you want? Or maybe 2 price points, with and without suspension?
Fair point on the fork, perfectly decent at the price point I’m guessing.
Cool bike, cool dog, cool beans.
Good luck or something!
I'm good with the new fork. 👍
But would like more mounting points for water bottle cages and rear rack mounts. But that's just me. 🚵♂️
Cool bike and love the color.
So far I’m digging the Norton. I actually built up a Diamondback Syncr aluminum along these same ideas this summer. I had a fork that needed a frame lol. Good luck w the enduro.
I love Norton! He's the most chill, good-natured dog! You and Angela are a lucky couple!
Great job and video! I cannot wait till this is available. Keep the info coming! And Norton is great! I miss my border collie that I had that looked just like him.
Can’t wait till this bike is available
I’m super interested in this bike. I’m in the middle of trying to sell my bikes because of financial issues. When I can get back into it, this is something I’ll be looking at
I'm curious about the possibility of making it a 29er with the tweak that you mentioned in your introduction video.
My full suspenion is old and clapped. I love my X. I'll buy this frame and I can use all the old stuff for a rad hardtail!
Yo bro, you seem to be talking more than running…. and that’s is very tiring!! I’m very happy to see this crazy experience where I can only dream of 🎉❤
Good luck dude.
Have fun at the race!
Good luck on the enduro!
Frame only with threaded BB, 180 rear disc without spacer and if there’s any you can maybe trim the seat post clamp area any further down and I’d be all over it. Can this frame fit a 2.8?
Stoked to get one. I've got all the parts from my parts bin ready to go. Got a pike, GX eagle, a 29er set of roval wheels, 2.3 DHR II, and SLX brakes ready to go. Are there gonna be a whole bunch of color options? I really dig that deep cherry on the redwood.
Looks good to me. Glad to know what you can do with cheaper forks.
1 test down....hopefully many more to go....(I agree on the chainstay length).
Good luck Eric
Good race!
you can sew the hole with a thick thread & then use some shoe glue on the outside to protect the thread.
I'm good with the square taper BB, but what about a fork with a tapered steer tube? The BB could be "Upgraded " later, but not the headset standard. Not sure about cost to do this and largely agree with non frame cost cutting measures. The frame looks will sell the bike!
You can add a tapered headtube spacer for a non-tapered fork. Doubtful there is a straight steerer, as basically anything over $200 is tapered.
I don't remember if this was mentioned or not and I can't really tell from the video, but is this a tapered headtube? That should be an automatic, so I'd think it is. Just asking to be sure.
what production run fork travel limits will be like? any chance we'll be able to put some 170 180 mm single crowns?
Doubtful, more than 20mm (ish) on most bikes you start to mess with the geometry, and things can get squirrelly, and not fun. I would guess right around 150mm (maybe 160mm) is about the limit.
Good luck😎
Sliding drop outs. We want sliding drop outs. Single speed fun
I like the bike.
Price point?
Once people see the price point for full-build vs separate frame, they’ll ease off a bit.
Are the wheels and/or tires tubeless ready?
They are using the same wheels that come on the Redwood but with different hubs. The Redwood wheels are tubeless ready.
If it could take a 150mm fork it would really get my interest in a frame only purchase
I am sold
Good Luck!…😎
thats AWESOME wtf
That was not a hard tails natural environment but it seemed to cope fork and all. Goodluck with the race.
Glade shades?
When this bike is released it had better be available in that yellow
Both Eric and Louis mentioned that yellow is not a production color but I hope they change their mind.
Ride reasonably priced bikes. I’m good with everything.
Does it have thru axles?
And I also feel like even if the fork is cheap it needs to at least be air so it can be adjusted for weight. I’m a heavy guy and I have a similar fork on a similar hard tail (diamondback line)and basically just being on it takes almost all the travel away.
first comment? nice
I just want the frame..in 29"...boost.
You can tell this bike was designed by someone over 30
Yeah, but what does that mean?
