I used to not be able to one a la seconde, but after watching this and practicing for about an hour, I was able to do one!!! The hopping through it really did help thank you ❤
Thank you! You really helped me. Even though I don't do ballet, dance, or gymnastics, I really want to do dance so if I ever audition, I'll remember you.
I’ve been wanting to do dance for a while now and I’ve finally brought it up to my parents (who said yes) so this is really helpful! I have a ton of respect for anyone that can do at least one a la seconde because they’re so hard for to me 😭😭 my legs are sore after not even 10 minutes
It helped so much i couldn't do anything like anything and i watched it 2 times and i can do its not tg best but i didn't even know how to do it and now i can THC for making this vid i am going to practice 😁
Thank you so much I’m currently planning on trying out for my competition team at my dance studio and one thing that I really needed to be able to do was a la seconde turn😊
That helped soo much i been trying to do that for days and i applied your correction and i got it and now i just need to learn to stop and land thank you so much
This helped so much! I have been trying to perfect or improve my La Seconde turns for a while now, but I keep falling out of them or they look really messy. So, when I tried these drills for them, and tried the actual turn. They looked so so much better! This was so so incredibly helpful, and now my turns actually look like La Seconde turns. 😮
I was taught that pirouettes à la seconde don't close when you spot. That's more for Italian fouettés, but the finished product is still clean. Good work.
I had the same problem when I started dancing, it was a mix of balance and strength. For me, I practiced holding it and thinking about using your strength from your thigh (if that makes sense) like you're pulling your leg up using your thigh and leg muscles while keeping the rest of your body balanced and strong especially keeping your core engaged
@Alyssa Rahl oh, i’m glad i’m not the only one 😅 i will say i’m getting a but stronger after trying some exercises from former ballerinas. It has helped a but so far, thank you so much for the tips!
i don’t recommend hopping at all because then it’s stuck it your muscle memory. hopping is one of the worst things you can do for turns in general and especially these.
Remember guys consistency is key, I didn’t even start turning when learning A La seconde turns, I only did exercises on the bar for like my first 2 months, then some exercises without bar in center, only then did I start trying to turn(I would try to see if I could do the turns without the bar once in a while for fun 🤩)and this whole process took me about year and they are still not the best, so remember consistency is key, NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT !!!
Your foot is so cold and you're not on your leg go to your farthest second and that makes you and you're trying to let your leg with your round even though it should be your arms and you're supporting foot but no hate
ok so, as a self taught dancer for abt 2 years to do atleast 3 a la secondes, you have to start by having a sock or something like a towel under your foot so you go faster, once you done that, start spinning like your gonna do a pirouette, put put the leg thats not your supporting leg STRAIGHT TO THE SIDE, then try putting the supporting foot up and down slightly, stay straight up and turn your head fast!
No you won't. Not with this mentality... If you expect it to work instantly as a beginner and instantly complain, then alas... or you use the complaining time to look for workouts to train the muscles and the progress will motivate you on the way to achieving this. I started adult ballet. Imagine i'd already start complaining that I can't do 32 fouettés in the first semester... I'd be crying on the couch. No, I'm working out like 5 times a week and after a few months I already made so much progress. Effort instead of complaining like a child is the key. And no, I ain't sugarcoating this comment for your feels, cuz that doesn't work on people with your attitude, either you gtf up and be like, okay lets do this or you don't. Up to you. Consistency is key. Good luck, I'm sure you can do this, but change your mentality for real.🥲
squeeze your core and if your core isn’t strong do flutters and crunches and then if you wobble or hop drill your foot into the ground (not litterally) but yk what j mean
Instructions unclear I am now a spinning torpedo
Lol
It could be because your using you leg to spin not your foot🫶
@@Shsndnnejejenrit was a joke 😭
@@_viviix ik😭 but I was just saying that aswell cause I was a tornado wen I started dancing
@@Shsndnnejejenryou dont use your foot either. your spot is what makes you turn.

What do you wear on your foot?? It’s hard doing with nothing on? Any tips?
You look like Samantha eve I think that’s her name

Can you make a video on how to start a, A La Seconde Turn
Great! Just make sure to wing your toes or else you’ll get into a sickling habit

Anyone have tips for higher straighter legs??

How long is taking you to do that???
