You have a jewel in Ian! So willing to do all that extra work to save the original ceiling parts that are possibly 400 yrs old! What a wonderful man perfectly appointed at Lalande 😊

@GaslitWorld f. Melissa B My preference is for rustic, but I enjoy seeing the more formal and elaborate decorating at La Land. It would be nice to see one of the outbuildings in a rustic style apartment.
Selmar you are so talented.... what a nice wise and kind person you are. You certainly are appreciated. Happy Birthday Selmar and many more to come. Lots of love xoxo 🥰

When I saw you were from India, I had to let you know have been greatly concerned for your country. Hope and yours are well. Have been praying for India and her people. 🙏
@@sharonfarris1282 you are so kind. It's a harsh time here. By god's grace I am in safe hands but I worry for my fellow people too. Thankyou for praying ❤️❤️❤️
You should have drainage holes in the pots so the plants don't die. Or be very careful how you water them. Sometimes it's better to pot them in plastic pots and use a cover pot for decorative purposes. It's easier to water.
I was thinking that, too. The plants seem to be happy that live there. I’m guessing Philip is knowledgeable about them. I’d put some of these in the shade until it gets hot.
Selmar is a delight. Sheer joy and pride on his face! What an incredible feat those giant tiles were. So much prep work and perfect placement. He has every reason to be proud of himself. He continues to leave his mark.
Selmar wanting such a simple meal for his birthday is blowing me away - tuna salad, cheese fondue & apple pie. HUH?? LOL. Happiest of birthdays Selmar. Here's to many more 🥂🍸🍹🍷🍻🍾. Your simple request is as beautiful as the craftsmanship on the floor. 🥪🧀🥧
@ Stephanie Murray Ah, wow, lol, so the question is... who filched this pun from whom... you from @ Kerry Hardy in the live chat, or vice versa hahaha!!! 🤔 I wanted to tell you that I truly LOVE all the wonderful fabrics and trims you send to Cadauex. They just seem to be so perfect for the LaLande Environment. I come away creatively inspired myself, just from looking at it on screen.
@@mparker6823 I also get a lot of pleasure from imagining what Stephanie would do with these fabrics, more fun in store and a small participation from us. When I first began watching, way back then, I just couldn't imagine that Stephanie was such a 'nice' person, we get so used to fakery on the net. BUT I quickly realised that she was exactly as she appeared, fun, positive, brave and generous. She gives us so much of herself, gives so much to others, gives a home to many for hours, days or month ( and sometimes years! ) it allows us to 'live' with them for the duration of the vlogs and imagine more beyond ! xo
Those beams in the attic - just WOW!! And Selmar working his magic in the downstairs loo - MAGNIFIC, Selmar!! I really love Philip's attention to detail. I really wish we could go back in time and have a visit with Philip as a child. What a sweetie pie! Hope you all have a wonderful week.
The powder room floor looks amazing! Another project done to perfection by Selmar. I am really interested in seeing the wallpaper selection and the whole space coming together.
Happy Birthday to Selmar and what a beautiful job he did on the floor. I love his laugh. So many wonderful things happening....LaLande is changing, gosh what a beautiful sunset and the way Dan mowed the grass, makes LaLande more beautiful everyday. Cheers!!!!
"Pot plants" means something completely different here. I had you playing in the background and those words moved you to the foreground of my attention.
Thank you for acknowledging me. We are all needed and wanted here. We are all taking a part in helping LaLande and its future in small ways as well as large. According to St Thersa and her "Little way" believing no matter how small a part e play it is significant.
I found the comment about no corridors interesting. I am renovating my grandmother's farmhouse that was built of brick made on the property and oak, also from the property in 1867. I just finished removing the wallpaper in the upstairs front hallway. The east and south walls had milk paint -- still bright -- under the wallpaper. The bottom was burgundy, the top apple green and a wide purple band at the top! But the west and north walls were plastered. The paint went behind the plaster of the west wall. At the end of the hallway, in the west bedroom the is a closet in the north east corner and the inside is painted in the same band of colors. This evidence leads me to believe that the hallway is a "newer" addition and that once there were only two large rooms.
@@angeladresler1855 No, the house I am renovating is located in Hardin Country, Ohio, USA. I am a francophile for sure and am finding a lot of inspiration in Lalande. If interested, I have an instragram about the progress: 1867farmhouse
I think I could spend hours in the downstairs loo. The stone floor, the mirror and chandelier and the windows opening out to bright green woods and birdsong. Divine. Congratulations Selma and Steph and all the other people who worked on the tiles.
Selmar!!! The floor looks amazing!!! You do such beautiful work! I’m so happy that you have found a home at Laland where you all are able to bring out the best in one another.
Recently found your channel. Those flowers seem simple enough to get a stamp made in order for other wood work, or stationary. Lovely posts, from first to last.
what a hive of activity! 3 guys hard at work, one insulates the attic and carries huge wood beams, one removes, carries, splits and rearranges huge slabs of stone flooring and one is busy with potted plants and cutlery, lots going on! :)
Wow I still think what a find in the attic , What a fabulous job Selmar has done in the toilet fabulous, Philip you surprise me a gardener lol. The collection of silverware is beautiful so detailed. Lovely footage again Stephanie xx
You are so lucky to have your LaLande crew Stephanie, I was married to a Dutch South African for 43 years . Selmar reminds me in some ways of my late husband, he would try anything, and always wanted to know how things worked. He was a Computer Engineer.
Selmar and Philip make my Dutch genes dance! Although I also have English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, German, and Finnish ancestry, the Dutch in me sings the loudest. Happy birthday, Selmar🤗
I feel lighter... travel has opened up, friends are back, projects moving forward, lovely discoveries, meals together, and looking forward to parties.... especially Selmar's birthday with dancing. Happpppy... 🍾🥂❤
The painted beams are a huge discovery. I really hope you find someone from antiquities to look at them. This is going to be of great interest to many.
Hi Lalanders! This messaje is for Philip!🙂 The plants has to be in a pot(plastic or clay) and than you can put them in the ceramic vase. This way the plants have drenage and the ceramic vase do not spoil or get damage with water, dirt and roots. And also you can easily change the plant from one ceramic vase to another every time you wan. Bissous bissous for everyone.💛
The things one can find while getting organized! Just think, had you organized the attic in a past year you would not have found these ceilings. Perfect timing!
For the Orchid you should have left it in the plastic container and set in a pot that doesn't drain. Once a week fill with water let it soak for 15 minutes. Then lift the plastic pot out and drain off the water.

I was going to mention the same thing! LOL. IN the US we call them potted plants. Pot plants are a specific um...medicinal weed. 😬
In Canada too... potted plants. Am I the only one who thinks some pots are too small for the plants?
