Bank jobs are tough, no doubt in that, saying it through my experience of around 3years as an officer. I won't compare it with CGL, as I'm not aware of the working culture in posts offered through CGL. To mention few of many downsides of banking jobs are customer dealing, targets (be it general banking, CASA, bank products, advances, NPA management, TPP, Government schemes, insurance etc), late sitting, frequent transfers, politics, staff shortage and infrastructure. Work pressure is high, leaving little or no time for even family. It's hard to get leave approved. Perosnally for me customer dealing is the worst part of banking. The opinion is based on my perosnal experience, others in the sector might have some positive view as well.
Never seen a CGL qualified guy leaving his/her job for bank, but seen hundreds of people leaving their Bank PO jobs even for a low paying government job. Money is important but not at the cost of ur mental peace.

Hey , I am in a confusion right now and need your guidance! Actually I also got selected in Bank PO (Union Bank Of India ) as well as in SSC CGL as Senior Administrative Assistant , Military Engineering Services in Ministry of Defence, and also cleared CAT & got admission to pursue my MBA from IIM Visakhapatnam, now I am really confused that what to join. So, at this point of time I need to be financially independent so looking to join a job only but I am confused bcz PO is providing me better salary but SSC job salary is around 45k but they will provide quarters and food in army mess + CGHS scheme is also which fascinates me as it will not be there in bank job, so can you please share your opinion and guide me ! One more thing to add is that my next target is RBI Grade B , so please guide accordingly that what would be better for me??

I am working as bank po since 2019 let me give you some points then you decide
1-salary of newly joined po is 1lakh plus in Mumbai (including allowances,30k lease) where in x city ssc cgl gets only 80k gross
2-Cgl officers would get retired at level 10,where as bank po would reach that level in 5 years till the moment they become scale 3 there basic would be higher than level 11 in centre govt and cgl guys would never reach that level
3- we get car loan ,housing loan at simple interest and much cheaper rate that would easily save your 30-40lakhs
4-5 days banking is going to be happened in few months then work life balance would be at par with cgl and salary will be increased with 12th bps
Now you decide which is better.
It depends on which post you opted for in cgl. I have seen a few people who joined as ITI inspector and retire at level 14 ( as Commissioner of Income Tax). Most of the ASO level posts in cgl retire at level 13, provided they pass departmental examination on the first attempt, and few lucky ones reach level 14 (joint secretary level). Otherwise, they generally retire at level 10/11
But definitely, a bank PO has more prospects in terms of promotion and they get more perks and allowances.
