The memories are all coming flooding back. I remember back in Vietnam me and my platoon mate Hootch used to cuddle up in the soaking wet fox holes andtune into Kripp's stream on our standard issue Combat radio. Of course our comms being down meant we couldn't react in time to Charlie getting the drop on us. We spent 3 Years in a POW camp before we were rescued. Hootch didn't make it, but his memorie lives on in the salt of my tears, as well as the salt of kripps stream. RIP Hootch you sweet stallion of a man.
My eyes are bad so can't see the deck list too well, but I think Spikeridged Steed is in it. My eyes are bad so can't see the deck list too well, but I think Spikeridged Steed is in it.
I find it funny how when Kripp accuses someone of sniping, twitch chat denies it, and in this video Twitch chat is saying "This guy's obviously sniping!" and Kripp says "No! Are you stupid? A sniper wouldn't do that!"
About the Gluttonous Ooze play in the first clip. He wasn't saving it. He topdecked it on the turn after Volcano which means that he only had 5 mana open and he was facing down a Spikeridged Steed. So, he had to choose between playing the Ooze or Hexing the Steed and he (correctly) chose to Hex the Steed. If he had 6 mana he would have probably played both but he didn't due to Volcano's overload.
I'm not a particularly good player especially in arena. I usually only manage to get 3-6 wins on average, however, when I picked Paladin and had three of those cards in my deck I went 12-2, 5 wins more than my previous best run. It's OP.
This card is just like Drakonid Operative and Kabal Talonpriest. You just look at those and think "How the heck could Team 5 even consider this balanced?"
I fought Hobbes before this recording, and I had a Sunkeeper Tarim zoo deck, and I used the vinecleaver to put more units to have my board filled when I summoned Tarim. I did this, cleared his board, and then killed him because of him not board clearing. No wonder why he gluttonous oozed that vinecleaver.
I agree the Spikeridged Steed has a very fair amount of polarization like Firelands Portal and Kabal Talonpriest, but I don't think it's as bad because Paladin isn't an awful class on its own. If Steed wasn't printed and was replaced with an average 6-drop, Paladin would still probably be middle of the pack in arena. It'd be shit if you're comparing it to the bullshit high strength of Mage and Rogue, but compared to other classes Paladin would still be fine because they got Lost in the Jungle, Hydrologist, Stonehill Defender, Dinosize, Vinecleaver, etc. Gadgetzan Priest on the other hand, if it didn't have Talonpriest, it'd be fucking garbage. And as long as Paladin isn't on top of Arena, I don't think the occurrence boost should be nerfed.
Would putting Spikeridged Steed on a minion that has already been buffed by Spikeridged Steed be like a minion riding a stegodon that's riding a stegodon? Because that's hilarious to think about.
This is a very strong card. There are decent counters to it tho: -Polymorph -Defias guy that has silence a deathrattle -Mana Bind Yeah, play mage if you see it.
The problem with spike Ridge Steed is the stats it gives to the unit. So basically isa cool concept of, "hey, lets give a buff that gives a card like its riding a steed and then, when the rider dies, its steed still remains. The bard basically gives 4/12 stats for 6 mana. Which is insane value, of course silence ruins the day. What would have been better? Maybe just give the rider higher attack, with the same death rattle affect and taunt. This follows star wars rules of upper ground equals better position. I think the buff should be, +3+1 Give taunt and summon a Spike Ridge steed when dead. This way the that stat line is 5/7 for 6 mana, which is exactly on curve to some minions for 6 mana. As a plus your given double taunt.
Tyrantus can't even ride Stegodons. Do you know why? BECAUSE HE DOESN'T NEED THEM. Blizzard had to balance Tyrantus somehow. "Can't be targeted" is just a limiter on his true potential.
last game it was obvious that you would have no opportunity to attack face since the first steg. you should have focus on doing hero power each turn. and i think you could have survived long enough and kill him.
spike ridged steed is stupid strong turns any minion you own into a better sludge belcher, but the paladin needs it without it paladin would literally be below bottom tier lol.
Spikeridged Steed is no difference to Free From Amber, Primordial Glyph, Meteor, Vilespine Slayer. that's how the direction of this game going. just pick these cards every time it pops up.
That card actually disgusts me. As a priest player I have to compare this to Shadow Word: Tentacles, a 2/6 buff for 5. Seeing that, how is a 2/6 + taunt + another 2/6 minion afterwards for only one additional mana even remotely fair?
The problem is all these cards exist in the same game. Kings is comparable to Tentacles which is comparable to rampage which is comparable to spikeridged. If the death rattle is worth around 3.5-4 mana (since it summons a four mana non-effect vanilla stats taunt minion) that means that the 2/6 + taunt buff is only costing the player 2-2.5 mana, which is utterly bananas. Honestly this effect is worth even more due to how sticky this buff makes the board and how much synergy it has with itself.
Priest is not a buff class. That's equivalent to saying "Why are druid's big minions good?" Also, giving a card "Deathrattle: Summon a 2/6" is not as good as spawning a 2/6
1st of all, priest is absolutely a buff class. Buffs: PW: Shield (in every priest deck), Divine spirit, Inner fire, PW: Tentacles, Purify (a buff in it's intended deck), PW:Tentacles, Velen's Chosen, PW:Glory, and Confuse (arguable). 8-9 spells. Paladin in turn has around 11 total buff spells, including non-stat buffs like blessing of wisdom and hand of protection. Yes paladin is the standout buff class, but priest is also one, just like how warrior and rogue are the primary weapon classes, but that doesn't stop paladin, hunter, and shaman from also falling under that umbrella. 3.5-4 mana worth of stats with a 3.5-4 mana death rattle attached is really really strong, particularly due to it's defensive statting in a class that has some of the best survival, control, and healing tools around. You drop this on a minion and it trades into another, leaving your boosted minion and often allowing you to go 2 cards for 2 cards (or better vs aggro). However, even if the card is killed it drops another minion that is also a high health taunt. This card is 4/12(not including potential x2 overkill damage bonus "health") + taunt (and possible pseudo-charge) worth of stats spread across two bodies for 6 mana with no downside. This card can stop can aggro deck by itself, and priest has been dying since forever for a tech choice vs aggro that is this good. Before it is mentioned I know silence is bad for it like all other buffs, but silence is rare in general and particularly so in this meta, and transform effects are bad if used against a 6+ mana card anyway. This ended up a bit more tl;dr than I had anticipated.

Kripp finally put a name to his intro, *Tavern!*
That spikeridged animal is so slow, I could kill it blindfolded, using a plastic fork.
Contract Killerino Kripperino you are weak. I could use a paper fork
Your kicks and punches are like lace curtians!
Oh the irony.
But killing it just makes a new taunter... #feelsbadman
My eyes are bad so can't see the deck list too well, but I think Spikeridged Steed is in it.
How are your eyes being bad obvious?
Can you not see how much he's squinting?
Charles Campbell Because the deck obviously has Spikeridged Steed in it due to the title
My eyes are bad so can't see the deck list too well, but I think Spikeridged Steed is in it.

I played in arena against a paladin who had 7 of this, it was really painful :(
Does anybody else hear Kripp call out to the panda waifu when he starts any sentence with "I, uh"?
TAVERN
kripps deck is insane wtf
Why ride a Stegosaurus when you can ride a *Tyrantus* ?
Tyrantus can't even ride Stegodons. Do you know why? BECAUSE HE DOESN'T NEED THEM.
Blizzard had to balance Tyrantus somehow. "Can't be targeted" is just a limiter on his true potential.
I don't need to ride Stegodons when i can eat them.
Why need packfiller when you can get ultrasaur?
who are you
Tyranterino Kripperino
I'm you, butt better, faster, bigger and stronger.
got 12 wins in arena , had 6 duplicates of this card while doing it.
0:03 Kripp's neck WutFace
If you steed the stegosaurus, does that mean it then climbs onto another stegosaurus?
Defias Cleaner, is a great arena card.
Rip the Skip

Shadowverserino Kripperino Where's all the waifu material?
Quite literally every game I've lost to Paladin in arena since Ungoro has been because they've had 2-3 of this card. Feels bad man.
I just realized. Every video Kripp asks "Hey guys how's it going", but no one actually answers how they're doing. How are you, chat?
Stefan de Jong Turns out chat is preeeeeeeetty good.
meanwhile, Ben Brode
*takes a look at Power word: tentacles
*BrodeLaugh*
If you give Misha some vodka, he will become 12/12 taunt with immune to magic. But better drink this vodka by yourself!
There's the damn second upload
well played
If they have a silence or removal, they dont destroy you, you just play another one.
Its stupidly OP, so is the 8 mana turn a minion 10/10 one
It's not THAT good. I just find it interesting is all! Hmph!
fuck
wasn't this video OUT a couple weeks ago?
I rode a stegodon once.... and now they are banned in Moonbrook
Why is there no Path of Exilering Kripperino? FeelsBadMan
I think it is very in appropriate by Blizzard letting you ride your stegosaurus by a stegosaurus
#spikeridding your stegosaurus
HEY I'M IN THIS VIDEO. I GOT STOMPED.
Whenever I play this card my opponent seems to draw polymorph and hex, or a silence.
Have 3 of those in my paladin deck... my opponent had at least 5 of them RIP
the card is basically sludge Belcher on a stick
Anyone know what Hozen healer says when it's played?
Sargent Sally with spikeridge steed = op?
Tavern
What is the program he uses to keep the deck list in the screen? Just who watch the stream can see it? I mean it's not an in-game thing?
tavern seems good
So much value...to silence!
Last time i was this early my mother still loved me
2:35 Did I beat him?
Paul Turek Sadly no

Can anyone make a EpicTopDeckKripperino So kripp can see how lucky he is with his topdecks
Stonehill Defender is just as busted in Paladin arena.
Tirion or Tarim every single time.
Skip the krip 2:36 Pre Skipperino
Wow wheres your credit? You were faster than skipperino and the guy whos like "did i beat him?"
I really like this card personally, 0 RNG so it's 100% skill
Should have been A Steedy Recovery XD
6Mana 4/12 with Taunt?
I call this Value!
The infamous 1sec ago video
I had a wonderful experience riding a Stegadon even though I'm a man horse
Tis!
Considering Priest got the same stats minus taunt minus the deathrattle body for only one less mana... yeah this card is ridicolously overpowered
Jukantos Considering the priest card is total ass tho
O SHIT 13:14 HE SAID HE WAS LUCKY
for the first time in foreveeverrr
wowowo
lol he says this but when i drafted four of them i only drew them one of them twice in the whole arena run. never lucky tops unstoppable
why does it say "Tavern" at the start?
Where's my Skipperino???
spike ridged steed is stupid strong turns any minion you own into a better sludge belcher, but the paladin needs it without it paladin would literally be below bottom tier lol.
