He's amazing! According to me, What They'll Say About Us by Finneas is one of his most emotional songs. The song's backstory is heart-breaking.

@@mervekartal6805 The song was partially written about this guy named Nick Cordero. He passed away due to Covid in 2020. So Finneas wrote this song from Nick's wife's perspective. The last two lines in the song "I wish you could see him, he looks just like you" is about their son who was only one year old at that time. as a theatre fan who was keeping up with Nick's situation on a daily basis, hearing this song after he finally passed had me balling. He was seriously so young, I really thought he'd make it :(
Finneas is one of my favourite artists. It's incredible what he was able to do as a producer as well as musician in his own right at such a young age (I'm not even sure how many Grammys he has at this point). I love his lyricism, and hearing him talk about music and seeing him create both Billie's, as well as his stuff, is inspiring. It's quite a different approach to modern pop music than what you'll see everywhere else, with Finneas (plus Billie on her albums) taking care of almost everything (writing, production, engineering, vocal arranging, lot of instruments or programming...). I would admire that even if he did not make my type of music (I'm not a massive fan of the sound of some songs on Billie's new album, but it's down to personal taste), but I really like the style of music he makes. Both his EP and his debut album are beautiful, and I'm really excited for what he'll go on to do next.
I love this song so much. I think you might really enjoy "A Concert Six Months From Now" from him.
If I'm not mistaken, I remember that in an interview he said that the song was about a friend who started his musical career at the same time, but as fate would have it, Finneas had more impact and recognition writing with Billie, and somehow the success of his career affected the relationship with his friend
thats so sad. sometimes we want something so bad, and we think that's the only thing that would bring happiness and meaning to our lives, and we are just not able to do it and a close friend does just trimphs at it and its way too frustrating to not affect their relationship. i hate how hard and complicated life can be sometimes
Apparently they have patched up the friendship now, which is nice, but the song must be awkward to have.

He said this was actually about a friend he had a fight with. I actually thought it was about a friend you wish you had, because of the friend I never had line. It is also an Interpretation I find very cool
The other people are exactly that: Other people. Throughout the video they too are falling and getting themselves up, just like Finneas. They have problems, they move on, better or worse, but none are helping each other. Everyone is alone. Then, at a given point in time, they all lift him and push him for a while, then they let go and he's back on the floor, alone and helpless, because they didn't actually help, they just wanted him to move on without really considering his problems.

Finneas is amazingly talented. I find this ironic - that someone who you could arguably say is totally overshadowed by his sister but 100% supports her & is an essential part of her team loses a friend in this way. This makes this song all the more poignant

FINNEAS has said in an interview that this was an actual friend. They got in an argument and it went way too far but they have since made up. The funny part is they had made up before he released this song which he wrote when the feelings were still raw.
