For those of you who have a check engine light EML after installing i suggest cleaning the MAF with electrical contact cleaner and while you're there, remove the DISA valve and ICV and clean them too with carb cleaner. Then, reset the car by removing the negative battery terminal for over 1 hour and touch it against the battery frame and turn on the lights and depress the brake pedal to release any charge in the system. This should reset all throttle adaptions and sensors for the new flilter.
It increases cold air flow into the engine, thereby increasing BHP and torque. The claimed figures are +11 bhp and + 20lbs foot torque but in real world it would probably be +5bhp. The original air box and filter are somewhat restrictive.
@@giolascala7 you didn’t understand him too well. He is asking if we must change anything in the car after installing this air intake for example like Amount of fuel that is delivered to the combustion chamber by the ECU. And the answer is no, your engine will do it by itself. Because of all these sensors etc
@@JZPGod Ohh my bad! I must have confused him haha. You are correct, your ECU will program itself after a little in order to make the car run as well as it should and not throw codes. If you do tune it however, you can really take advantage of the new intake and allow for some more power!

Some people have the check engine light come on and some don’t. After running this setup for a couple of months I haven’t gotten a check engine light, so that’s my experience.
It is not a bad thing! Some people argue that it is pretty much useless until you get a tune to fully maximize the power return, but until then it makes your car sound cooler!😂
Please just don’t do this the stock airbox is amazing and doing this without a tune and with nothing to back up the ‘increased’ air flow means you’re doing nothing but making your car worse. If you like how it looks and do it purely for that you should also understand you’re a clown. No hate to the guy who made this video but please just don’t
No it doesnt. The airflow between this intake and the stock Airbox is so comparable it rarely trips the check engine light. The only real difference between this and stock is the sound
@@backblockdetails mmm depending on how good the engine is running the airflow and pressure to the fuel regulator return line and other line I can remeber the name can be less. Not bad but you’ll run lean

Correct. Also sometimes oil from the filter gets onto the MAF sensor and will cause it to read incorrectly. MAF cleaner will solve this quickly!
Thank you man! Great video
thanks!
There is another connector at 0:42 what is it? You didn't connect it anywhere after install new filter
Yeah it does not attach to the new filter. The harness just hangs loose without connecting back onto anything
@@giolascala7 so do you know what is it for? What is the purpose of hanging harness? Does it cause any engine light?
@@Furkankeskinnn not sure. It won’t cause an engine light
How did you get the pipe to connect to the open one down low
Would this work with a 325 ci
Yes! But make sure to buy the k&n intake for the m54b25 engine that’s in the 325Ci
Where did you get your gloss black kidney grills?
Hahah bro I just spray painted my OEM grills😂
@@giolascala7 lmao 😂 I thought about that. I have the same color car e46 but the ZHP version.
@Cohn Wolfe That’s beautiful! I just got the ZHP front bumper!! Anyway, this is your sign to remove your grills, sand them, and paint them!😂
Would this work for the M52TUB25 engine in the 323ci? Thank you and nice video!
Will this fit a e46 330ci 2006?
Yes!
Can you explain what does this do? Only the sounds
It increases cold air flow into the engine, thereby increasing BHP and torque. The claimed figures are +11 bhp and + 20lbs foot torque but in real world it would probably be +5bhp. The original air box and filter are somewhat restrictive.
Yes, sounds and some added horsepower
my charge pipe doesn’t fit the thing connected to the og intake tube . what do i do ?
Do you mean the charge pipe doesn’t fit onto the MAF sensor? Did you use the rubber coupler the kit came with?
@@giolascala7 i mean like the tube that says k&n doesn’t fit onto the tube that’s connected to the engine . like where u said 2:34
the upper boot doesn’t fit the lower boot

Do you have to tune youre vehicle when installing that unit or else you're fuel ltft will increase

I got code P0101 after a week of running it. Did you ever experience MAF issues?
I once had my MAF sensor reading incorrectly since some oil from the filter got onto the sensor. Some MAF cleaner fixed this easily!
Does it cause a fuel trim issue for Bank 1 and bank 2

will a cold air intake make my engine light came on?
Some people have the check engine light come on and some don’t. After running this setup for a couple of months I haven’t gotten a check engine light, so that’s my experience.
yes, and the engine will act weird until it adapts to the new intake
Because it’s trying to figure it out how much more fuel it has to inject because there is more air delivered to the engine
So it’s bad if I get a cold air intake ? As far as I saw this comment it look like it’s bad
