Most valuable tutorial! I am putting a bustle in a prom dress that was too pretty to cut and too long for prom. Trying to find the points was a challenge for me and I finally found your site for this bustle. Thank you
Well done! I am bustling my first gown. I've looked at a few different tutorials on bustling a gown. Your method is the one I will be using. I like the hooks anchored as receiving the eye rather than sewing the hook on the train! ...much better and easier to hang the train on. Thank you for sharing your skills.
Lovely! I’ll LOVE the idea of using a widened metal eye as a stay on the underside of each pick up point! Super strong and secure thread loop without using a little square of fabric to reinforce the area. I’m definitely using that little trick to step up my seamster skills. It looks professional and serves to protect the beautiful fabric at a stress point. Thanks!❤️
Thank you for the lovely reply, Ruth. Isn't it amazing how the smallest thing can change your work from "home sewn" to "Professionally Sewn"? Even if you work from your home, as I have done for many years, you can still offer Professional results.
My biggest concern. In the dress I have there is no lace on the back of the dress, hence no place to put a loop or hook that would be invisible on the dress (no lace to hide them in). Suggestions?
Hi Delia, I did this video many years ago when the recording equipment was not very high definition and I knew very little about video. Now-a-days, we are used to the mega pixel result we get from our smart phones. I hope to make more now that I have a new sewing studio and can use newer equipment.
Thanks for the vids. It was the best explaination! But I’m little bit confused because some ppl refer ballroom bustle as invisible bustle. Which one is correct?
I have seen many names for this type of Bustle. Lately I've been seeing it as an "American Bustle". Ballroom is just my name for it. You can call it anything you wish. :)
Hi Denese, I've used various threads, from Carpet to some parashoot my Dad found for me once. Any extra strong Nylon will do. Coats & Clark Upholstery is a good one and most fabric stores have it in white & a few ivory shades.
Usually the normal size you'd use anywhere else, but depending on the situation, I might go larger or smaller. White hooks & Eyes generally don't come in many sizes.

Excellent! Stabilized on the back and clean stitches on front
Thank you so much
Love the idea of the metal eye under the dress. Going to try that on a dress I need to bustle.
Of all the bustle videos I've watched, yours is the best. Thank you!
Thank you Brenda!

Professional.
Thank you for the great tips on bustling a wedding dress. The ballroom bustle is my favorite, and works great for the dress I’m doing now!
Thank you, Sandra. I hope you continue to have great success in your Bustling!
Excellent instructions. Thank you
Hi I would like to see how to make the top of a bodies of a wedding dress and the best fabric to use inside

This is my question too. All I have to work with is Chiffon.
I completely agree with Brenda Sheehan
Thank you Sheila!
Wish your video was clear. Very blurry on my end. Do you hear that complaint at all?
No one has complained. Its max is 480p.

Thank you. Very good information. What kind of thread do you use to make your loops?
