As much as I admire your work; there ain't no way I gonna cut wood that big with out a chain saw. I used saws like that when I was a kid, 60+ years ago. Not no more! ;-) Thank you for your videos. I really do enjoy and appreciate them.
Gives you respect for the people in the past who built this country before there was electricity. Everything was built with sweat, hands and blood. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It's been a long time since your last performance. Apparently this is exactly how much time is needed to gain strength, which was enough to cut such a thick log by hand!! Glory to Andreas Stihl!!
Awesome job Chris, the bowl turned out beautifully. Very relaxing watching you work, took me back a lot of years. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
Hey Chris, long time no see :) boy that was one heck of a job to cut through this log, well done ;). I hope you won’t be too sore from all that sawing. Keep up the good work my friend :)
Hi Chris. I hope you and your family are safe and well. The bowl was wonderful. Have you ever thought about having an apprentice? She or he could help you saw the logs with that double-handled saw of yours. Thanks for sharing.
last time I cut a log like that I was about 12 and decided quickly there was a reason they invented chainsaws and just before 13, I bought my first one. I am 46 now.
Wonderful work! Would you consider trying a Japanese pull saw for logs? There are several types like the whaleback saw and I personally would love seeing you using one and giving your impressions. Your commitment is admirable, I really enjoyed this video
Thanks. I love my Japanese Whaleback saw and it is highlighted in several of my videos. I use it when I am ripping a log. Search my channel for “Whaleback saw” and you will find a couple.
Wow! That looked painful. Would it have been less painful if the cherry log was elevated a little so you wouldn't have to bend over? Like on a sawbuck, perhaps?
Who ever thinks that that is fun needs their head examined. I worked many years in the woods like that, God bless chain saws, even better lumbering machines.
After watching all the work it took to saw that log, i want to go back in time and hug all my ancestors. Good job.
No doubt!

I don’t blame you! Thanks!
Idk why but the sound of you sawing the wood and seeing all of the sawdust just makes me love this video you created.
Glad to hear!

Do you understand that everyone is different?
I just enjoy doing this by hand. There is no time pressure for my hobby so no rush to buy a chainsaw.
