Seeing a grown man act like an excited kid makes me smile.
The chrome Conquest looks like a 1950’s, or 1960’s , NASA experimental plane. It is awesome.
well, the X-29 was built off an F-5 fighter body. later Test aircraft (like he X-31 that tested thrust vectoring and Herbst maneuvers) had the same base. so a lot of NASA test planes were modified from existing aircraft. in fact, that's why the Conquest's guns are set up like that--the F-5 Tiger's guns were mounted on top in that configuration.
The online form of collecting can never replace the thrill of the hunt in a physical shop/seller's market. Finding a piece that you never knew existed or wanted before, makes you want to gladly keep searching. Congrats on the find and experience.
I don't collect any G.I. Joe, have no skin in the game, but that vac-metalized jet is simply gorgeous.

I loved the Conquest due to my fascination with the NASA/AF experimental plane it was based on.
Seeing that 8 year old Michael come out like that was something really special, and I can tell how much that custom x-30 really is. Those moments are amazing to have.
We have the greatest community as G.I. Joe fans/collector's. You never meet a stranger in our Joe-verse.

Your videos are really important to me as well. Every time I see a new one released , its one of the few videos I will fully watch and not multitask during my watching it. Every video has wonderful content and its a lot of fun hearing about the history of all of my favorite old toy lines. You and your team are very much appreciated.

Michael, it is very reassuring and bolstering somehow to see just how excited that vac-metal Conquest X-30 made you... Sometimes it feels like a fool’s errand, being a collector of toys and action figures. Especially as an adult. But, it’s a passion for me. It always brightens my day and makes me happy to get my hands on a much sought-after piece. And, I’m not even talking about vintage collector’s items. Just, in general. And sometimes, it’s good to be reminded of the fact that there’s nothing wrong with following your passions, and that we all share in that feeling of excitement and satisfaction, in doing so.

It's great to see you do engaged and passionate about a "new" toy! The moments where we recapture that sense of "COOL!" from our childhood are few and far between- but they can still make your day! Also, that Vac-Metalized Conquest is pretty damn incredible!
Joefest was a blast! I blew through my money the first five minutes I was there thanks to marauder gun-runners. Before I left I did manage to pick up a G.I. Joe Desert Night Attack Copter that was looking all sad and lonely on the top shelf at this sellers table. Wish I could have met you Michael,there were so many people. Of course there is always next year.
I no longer collect G.I. Joe. But I had a large collection as a kid that has been lost to time. The Conquest X-30 was like a consolation prize for my collection, because I never had a Skystriker until further down the road. I hated it, but it was the only Joe jet fighter I had. This, however, may be the most awesome Joe custom I've ever seen. It definitely makes me look at the X-30 in a whole new light. Congratulations on such an awesome find, and thanks for sharing.
What I love about this video, is that it reminded me of the pure joy and elation of toy collecting. Even better than finding a grail one has always wanted, is finding one you never knew you needed.
Fabulous pickups! I purchased my last GI Joe figure in 1990 at ToysRUs & really don’t want to give back into that addiction but you make it tempting. So happy to see all the videos that you make to help me relive my childhood. Thanks for helping to keep our dreams alive.

Glad to hear there is still a toy show focused on the enjoyment of classic toys rather than investment and speculation which is ruining the Joe hobby (in my opinion) with skyrocketing prices for common items, etc.

My biggest problem with the Conquest was always the yellow engines and missiles. Just never looked right. That custom Conquest is amazing.
I'm just grateful RetroBlasting keeps it about the toys, and not social media drama and politics. It shows respect to the brands and the fans. Toys like music, or any other artform, should unify people

I remember Sky Force being just one of a number of "special" subteams made of recolored vehicles (often with some of the oddest choices). That in itself is deserving of a video. And you are right. Of all the vehicles that would have benefited from Sky Force's vac chrome design, the Conquest was a no brainer.
Growing up I had the Skystriker but a few years ago I got a Conquest and it is a beautiful vehicle.
I know the feeling, coming across a hard-to-find vintage item or one you never knew existed, from a toy line you love. For me it’s always on eBay, but I love to hear of your convention adventures!
That GI Joe Conquest X30 looks absolutely fantastic and killer in that Chrome paint! Real good find there!

I just missed you guys at the Memphis Belle unveiling but darn right I would've stopped you both to at least thank you for all the memories on your channel all these years! That chrome Conquest is just plaun awesome! Truly looks like an X plane from the Skunkworks. I never had the original Conquest growing up, but I DID get the Python Conquest, so to me, that looks better as a Cobra jet, though I always loved the flying tiger mouth on the original. Finally, yes, the Skystriker>>>Conquest, but I like them both.

It happens. I love comic characters, but haven't bought physical print comics in years. I went to HeroesCon in Charlotte two weeks ago. The vibe was infectious. I walked out with 5 tradepaperbacks, and 20 some odd single issues, some autographed. I regret nothing.
To your experience, that X-30 is GORGEOUS. It was a great seeing you light up like a Christmas tree whooshing it around after you got it. That's our fandom, it's not just nostalgia, it's feeling like "hey...I can still be excited by things!"
