This has to be the most detailed Cammus C12 review ive ever watched. And I've watched them all.

interesting you mention grain on the C5 and not on the C12 as Boosted Media noted the opposite .
My C5 doesnt have the grain, this leads me to believe it may be a QC issue?

Hi, when you did the software installation and you came to the driver installation portion. Did you leave the three boxes for the drivers checked and did you answer yes or no when it asked to remove associated components before the install. I'm only asking because i had trouble with my first wheel after software installation, and communicating this to Cammus is difficult due to the language barrier.

I hope they come out with a truck wheel for truck sim. That's what I plan on doing with mine when it arrives.

You can look for a truck rim that fits the same screw layout

The moza truck sim wheel will fit if you buy their 70mm adapter

For someone who has budget as no.1 criteria, but still wants the best, would you recommend this over the C5 ? IOW is it twice as good to match the twice the cost ? Also I had a Podium DD1 and hated the magnetic shifters (way too loud and too hard to get off the magnets) so I think I would prefer the C5 shifters, especially when my road car only has tiny shifters that don't have a magnetic base and subsequent noisy click clack.

IMO I think you should of kept the podium as it is far superior and has an ecosystem of wheels. You could have gotten a different wheel with different shifters. If all it comes down is the shifters sure go for the C5 but it will be a significant downgrade in both quality and force feedback. So force feedback wise the C12 would be less of a downgrade but you are also stuck with not having interchangeable wheels. I would highly recommend looking into some MOZA stuff, especially the R12 which sits at a similar price but carries an entire ecosystem.

@@kal4752 Budget is number one concern. and I actually preferred my T300, but I do have all the 'artificial' effects turned off so that only force from the wheels comes through the steering wheel as this is much more true to life. Results in a much smoother result and basically only turning forces output to the steering wheel and a mere 3.9nm of the T300 is more than enough for me. As a result I have bought the C5 as this fits all my criteria - quiet, smooth and cheap :)
A bit like me really ;)

So how's it holding up after 3 months?

There's a nut poking out of the middle of the buttonbox, so be aware you need a spacer if you want to use another rim.

It would be a very specific problem with some rims, there's a few Fanatec Rims that are completely flat solid in the middle but if you have a wheel with a horn cut out at the center it wouldn't be a problem, but yeah for those kinds of rims you have to use a spacer

I can design and 3d print a spacer easily enough.

As an industrial motor control specialist for 30 years…. This design makes lots of mechanical sense, That doesn’t mean the market will accept it, there have been many successful products with totally backward designs… ie Porsche 911.. 😂
