Sorry. I usually like your advice but.... learn to lock the string under the first wrap. Also no need to have snippers. Once locked, you can bend the tag and it will breakoff perfectly, leaving nothing to poke you.

Ha ha the luthier wrap.. yea, I never liked that. And I have never poked myself with this procedure. But to each their own. I have seen countless people swear by the way they string their instrument.

There's always your bare hands but some people prefer tools .
