- Whether you call it Don't ever Forget or I don't want to say goodbye, here is the remix of that song! It has been a while since I did a PMD2 remix so it's nice to come back to it. (also I can't fit the other title in the thumbnail lol)
So for this one I went for a more acoustic feel to really add to the sad feeling. On my last one I had some complaints that it wasn't sad enough because it was Drum and Bass. While DnB is very energetic and happy a lot of the time, it can also be sad. I just didn't know how to produce dnb very well back then lol
Anyway this wasn't too complicated, acoustic music is really relaxing to make, since there isn't too much of a focus on sound design. It's all really there in front of you so all you really have to focus on is the composition and arrangement aspect of the song. Though that doesn't make mixing them any easier! Drum kits especially are hard for me to mix but I've ranted about that too many times in the past lol
I hope you guys enjoy it because it has been almost 5 YEARS since my last remix of this song in particular. Time flies. At the time I was some edgy 17 year old trying to make drum and bass music by using PMD soundtracks as practice. Now I'm an edgy 22 year old so not much has changed :P jkjk

@@clashdash5654 Actually I think all 4 games (rescue team, sky, infinite, super) happen in the same universe because in Super post-game, many characters from previous games made their appearance. If only we can somehow meet OUR old teams from those previous games too. That just sounds so beautiful in my head

I don't think I got this far in PMD2 but even so, this mix packs quite the emotion!
I beat PMD2 a couple years ago at this point and this song has hit me really deep ever since then. It never fails to make me experience emotions and is honestly something I turn on when I just need to feel ANYTHING. Something about it just reminds me that I'm human. That life will go on, good or bad, with or without me. It reminds me to love being human, and being here, even if it wells my eyes with tears in order to get there.
I'm in the same boat. I played the game around when it first came out. I'm 26 now and still tear up every time I hear this. It definitely grounds me, bringing me back to being a human, feeling emotionals.

The best of the PMD series. So much so it inspired me to do a D&D campaign using it as a base. I've played through all three of the titles from this gen of PMD and this part always made me cry. I wish more games companies were willing to take risks and get these results.

Yeah it really does do that idk if I'm the only one but when a song starts to play usually instrumental or without lyrics memories fly through my head of times I had listened to that song whatever one it is and what I was doing.
Route 15 X and Y is one of those ones I just have so many good memories with that song I cry wishing to relive those memories.

I remember it was fifth grade. Woke up early on Saturday morning, waiting for cartoons to start, and I was attempting Dialga for the millionth time. Sleep seeds, blast seeds, I remember I had so many plain seeds in my storage I used them as food in the dungeon... then I beat him. I was so overjoyed I nearly screamed! Then I realized as we started glowing what that meant. The fading, the music, and our character talking for one of the first times aloud in the game. I remember getting to the credits and crying. My sister woke up some time after me and had no idea what was wrong...but she would weeks later after beating the game herself.
You did an amazing job on this one. Normally I’ll just like your vids but this one did stir that feeling again. I haven’t felt that moment in nearly twelve years. Bravo to you sir. A wonderful take of a piece from a game I’ll always hold in the highest regards.

I'm happy your PMD remixes are back! Honestly, the music in the games have so much emotion in them (I still get chills whenever i hear Dialga's Fight to the Finish) and your remixes throws even more feels into the blender that is my emotions.
This was very much not what I was expecting. I love that while it still holds the original emotion of the piece, it has a bit of an upbeat flair to it that really brings it out while staying true to the sound of the MD games. Can't wait to see more!

PMD Explores Series was such a great game, still remember the story so clearly after all those years, still the saame tears aat those two specific events/cutscenes that will come.

You mention that your previous remix didn't sound sad enough. That's the thing. The reason (that I believe, anyways) that the song is called Don't Ever Forget in Explorers of Sky is because it's supposed to be both sad and encouraging. A farewell song as your character says goodbye, but an encouraging song, telling your partner (and you) to never forget. A song of tears and sadness, yet also memories of good times. Which is also why I think the original song sounds so light-hearted for what it entails. I had a person who'd never played the game listen and she called it a cheerful sounding song.
I would always reset my game just to watch the scene and listen to the music over and over
