I just finished Educated this past week (huh, I homeschool....)... anyway, even though its talked a lot with homeschoolers, I would t say it's about her journey homeschooled.
I just bought (and am finally going to read) Anne of Green Gables. I had a copy already, but mine is from the 1930s and I'm scared to actually carry it around with me and read it so I bought a cheap used copy to actually read lol Also if you're still looking for good middle grade books: Gregor the Overlander series by Suzanne Collins

I made it! It's just a headband with a little wooden unicorn glued to it, I got all the supplies at Dollar Tree.
