A traumatic childhood made Zuko become a kind and caring father to his daughter, and often spent time with his daughter and grandson, something he never got from Ozai's father and grandfather. After becoming a father, Zuko always spent more time with his only daughter from childhood to adulthood so that his daughter Izumi would have a happy childhood.
I guess Zuko's own upbringing was a big influence in how he raised Izumi, who's the most well adjusted of the next generation. Aang inadvertently disregarded his two oldest children to train Tenzin creating jealousy, while Toph was a workaholic who didn't have time for her daughters.
I think one of the most telling moments of Zuko's and Izumi's relationship is that he stepped down and aside to allow her the opportunity to show the world the kind of Fire Lord (Lady) she can be and not have to wait for him to die. Talk about empowering your child. While in contrast we have Ozai proclaiming himself the Phoenix King as a way to let Azula have the title of Fire Lord (Lady) and he still remains in control. Not to shortchange Iroh and Ursa but Zuko really made himself a better man.
I like to think Zuko and Mai went out of their way to let Izumi know she was loved equally by them both, so she wouldn't have to deal with the torment and insicurties her father and aunt did
Izumi is not only a master firebender(or lightning if she knows how to produce lightning) but also skilled with knives like Mai. She can produce fire(or lightning) into her knives make it a powerful projectile like a bullet armorpiercing round.
Man I cannot express how much I’d love to see an anime purely about Team Avatar’s lives in the future. Doesn’t have to have an amazing plot or any twists, just a slice of life/day to day showing of them just living their lives after the war would be so nice to see. Especially showing Aang & Zuko with their children. OR an anime about Zuko and the gang finding his mother & the conspiracy surrounding that. Ah. One can dream lol
Honestly this just fuels my headcanons, Zuko had only one child, this mostly stems from the fact that he never had a good relationship with his sister growing up. As well as the fact that Ozai obviously played favoritism with Azula as Ursala sorta did the same with Zuko. He also was a better father then the rest of the Gaang (this is coming from evidence in the show) Aang favored Tenzin, And judging from Katara's perspective (though it's more of a stretch) it didn't look like she sat down Aang and talked to him about his obvious favoritism, which is sorta understandable since Tenzin was the only Airbender "at the time" and Aang was for the longest amount of time the last Airbender and sole keeper of his culture. But it still doesn't excuse the fact that he created a rift between the three children making the other two not feel as loved as the first. Thus resulting in Tenzin being the "golden child" and left a dysfunction and trust issues between the three. Toph tried to give too much freedom to her daughters which lead to an unstable family and a sense of entitlement in one of her children. She also wasn't as involved as she should've been in her daughter's lives as she buried herself in work trying to get rid of criminals which in on itself is fine but this also meant she couldn't be a parent to her children. Which is why one turned to criminal acts and the other putting her mother in a pedestal and tried to live her mother's shoes instead of being he own individual for years. As for Sokka, it doesn't look like he had any kids so there's not much I can add from here. I believe Zuko made sure to avoid all of that, it's clear he loves his daughter and raised her right. After the abuse he dealt with his own dad he swore that he would never be like Ozai or Azulan. So he made sure to be there for Izumi and be a loving father as well as be an example of being a good Firelord until he passed leadership to Izumi while teaching and raising her to not only have pride in her nation but to respect the other three and keep peace. -(But in their defense, Aang never grew up with parents, Katara and Sokka lost their mother and their father was gone for many years and Toph's parents were just too much of a helicopter and tried to control everything she did. She couldn't trust them with anything). Zuko on the other hand still remembers the love his mother gave him (and the Search comics he does reunite with her) and he had Iroh supporting and loving him like a son But apart from that, I really love the video, it's well done and I think you demonstrated their relationship perfectly
Was Zuko and his daughter standing in the same area that he and his Uncle were standing at when Iroh was teaching him how to redirected Lightning? Anyway very well done your Videos are getting better by the day will you be making one of mine next. I hope Zuko and his daughter were really this close.

I like how Zuko the member of the Gaang with the worst home life grew up to be the best parent
Ozai sets the best example of what not to do as a parent.
Dude that's so beautiful, I love how do you always put so emotional and beautiful music into the background😭😭💕💕
I love Zuko so much! He must have been an awesome and awkward dad
Excellent parenting, Lord Zuko!
Izumi seems solemn but not unhappy
This kind of content makes me want to cry
This is still a masterpiece atla will always be my favorite cartoon and for many generations to come ☺️
Man I cannot express how much I’d love to see an anime purely about Team Avatar’s lives in the future.
Considering we’ve only seen Izumi briefly in the show I’d say Zuko was arguably the best parent of the gaang. Surprisingly
Maybe not a surprise, considering he had a good example (Iroh) to emulate and a bad example (Ozai) to avoid.
What about katara
I'm tearbending... So beautiful! 😊 😢
Omg! This is adorable! It was one of the most wholesome things I’ve ever seen-😭🥺❤️
Izumi’s first priority was the safety of her people, refusing to go to war. No doubt this made her father and Great Uncle proud.
aww this is so cute i can't
Why'd you have to make me tear up this early in the morning?
Oh my gosh, the bending he was teaching her... that was to be able to redirect lightning!! 😆
You always know how to pull at my heartstrings ❤
It would be awesome to see Izumi bonding with Grandma Ursa.
AHHH I LOVE THEM 🥹 this is so sweet
this made me cry it's so beautiful
This is so wholesome.
I know Zuko must have felt the happiest when Izumi was crowned the Fire Lord. 💜
He looks so proud of her.
Honestly this just fuels my headcanons,
Zuko had only one child, this mostly stems from the fact that he never had a good relationship with his sister growing up. As well as the fact that Ozai obviously played favoritism with Azula as Ursala sorta did the same with Zuko. He also was a better father then the rest of the Gaang (this is coming from evidence in the show)
Aang favored Tenzin, And judging from Katara's perspective (though it's more of a stretch) it didn't look like she sat down Aang and talked to him about his obvious favoritism, which is sorta understandable since Tenzin was the only Airbender "at the time" and Aang was for the longest amount of time the last Airbender and sole keeper of his culture.
Zuko on the other hand still remembers the love his mother gave him (and the Search comics he does reunite with her) and he had Iroh supporting and loving him like a son
But apart from that, I really love the video, it's well done and I think you demonstrated their relationship perfectly
uncle Iroh was a great teacher of fatherhood
This is so beautiful * - *
So touchingly wholesome
Cool Zuko is my favorite charcter with Mai.
This was such a beautiful edit.
This just makes me smile.
Really am just so upset we didn't get more of Zuko's family in Korra.
No Dislikes After 5 Hours
6 hours in nothing yet...
One day still no dislikes
Was Zuko and his daughter standing in the same area that he and his Uncle were standing at when Iroh was teaching him how to redirected Lightning?
Anyway very well done your Videos are getting better by the day will you be making one of mine next.
I hope Zuko and his daughter were really this close.
As a matter of observation;yes it did.
Yes, yes they were. They were actually everywhere the memories showed.
@@watermasterquotev1560 you don't say.
I have no doubt Zuko was a good father to Izumi. Even though it hasn't been shown I believe she is a very skilled Firebender just like her father.
This is amazing
Why does it feel like memories I’ve never had?
So glad to see no dislikes on this beautiful video
Zuko had a great redemption!
And the dad of the year goes to Zuko
Repeating Old memories to new ones
Nice to see you again Zuzu🙂😊🔥
Video suggestion : Zuko and iroh | Father and Daughter
Esto es arte aprecienlo!!!.
This is beautiful
Zuko had the best dad, his uncle iroh, is obvious he will become a great father
You might have done the impossible. Nice Job adding this to the timeline
This is beautifull..!
I am going to cry.... I love them................
Just one scene missing: "Where are we going today, father?."
"To meet the Dragons "
Now i want to see Zuko and General Iroh II relationship
Is Iroh II Zuko's nephew?
@@shadycactus7896 Grandson, also he have granddaughter but they never showed her on screen
You missed when she went through her moms emo phase
The only good thing Ozai ever did was show how you don't raise a child. Zuko learned from his father's misdeeds and raised his daughter with love. The way a father should be.
Do one with her mother, Mai
Head Cannon: Izumi is named for Iroh's presumably deceased wife.
Damn imagine izumi's youthful days with Zuko
That was cool i love that i cried a little
why is it so emotional :)
Well she is so lucky to have Zuko as a father 😞😢💓
Nobody : ..
Me : I like this piano, and why am i in tears..
Everybody commenting on how great of a dad Zuko was
Me stuck on the part where Zuko LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE UNCLE IROH
I'd love to see zuko bend lightning, he should be able to do it because he'd found his inner peace.
" *how long can turtle ducks y'know be around?* "
They can have kids u know?? It doesn't have to be the same turtle ducks.
