  • Disclaimer This light is estimated around 1500 lumens, NOT any lumen amount in the hundreds of thousands that may appear on the product page. I learned about the common false advertising of lumen amount after making this video so figured I'd clarify that here. Check the pinned comment too.

I'm sitting here crunching numbers, doing little petty math between 12v 5000mAh batteries to find out the max amp output into watts (5 amps, 1000 mAh makes 1 amp, 500 mAh is 0.5 amps, you get the idea), giving a max 60 watts. All to compare to CREE's tested watts between different LEDs.
I'm not an electrician or professional, fuck I just turned 18 yesterday, laying here at 2pm bored and looking for a decent new flashlight (Already own Cyclops Colossus 18 Mill. Candlepower, far more trouble than it's worth, too bulky shit charge time bright as a car headlight gets very hot only lasts 15 minutes max on high) and getting all these cock-and-bull lumen answers of over 10k. Some even claiming to be on-par with the Imalent company flashlights, brightest flashlights in the world at 120k lumens for #1.
DO NOT FALL FOR CHEAP LIGHTS WITH INSANE HIGH LUMEN CLAIMS. If it's below $100 and claims to be getting more than even 10k lumens, likely it's a lie. They'll slap a big number on there (I bought the Colossus thinking "Damn, 18 million candlepower? That's gotta be huge!" Read above review.) and make it seem powerful as hell with a few stock images showing the supposed flashlight lighting up an entire forest.
Maybe some can pull that off, but regardless don't get excited at a large number and buy impulsively. As someone else in the same comments section pointed out, they'll likely be 5000 lumens tops which for everyday use is a damn lot when a normal penlight is roughly 400 lumens, and one of those small metal shell flashlights with the 3 AAA batteries in the plastic holder hit about 6/8 hundred if my memory is sufficient.
Basically what I'm saying is thank you very much for the genuine review of this particular flashlight in the video, very much appreciate it you saved me hours of likely worthless work trying to find out the real brightness outside of the number games 😂 and a little unprofessional PSA for impulsive folks out there like me.

I appreciate the kind words! The comment section here is where I learned the situation with companies advertising ridiculously inaccurate lumen amounts as well. Glad you've figured it out and got some clarity from this. Cheers!

@@GooseReviews Cheers mate, I probably wouldn't have fully figured it out without your video and comments section either tbh xD would've spent the next couple days researching max LED wattage and lumen outputs to end up with a whole chart for the best options, coming to the same conclusion that the unknown Chinese overflow brands are liars (seems to me an XHP70.2 CREE LED with a battery output of 3.7 volts, 8000 mAh minimum is the best general option for a rough, supposed minimum of 9000 lumen output and decent battery life, after a few hours of unprofessional & untested evaluation) and likely ended up with a crappy light hardly brighter than a dollar store flashlight for like $20 on Amazon to show for all that work. Not getting scammed by a big number again, thx to you and a high amount of sugar+caffeine in the system giving me the patience to even research all this 😆 hopefully other people will find this video in situations where it's most helpful and benefit similarly!

@@GooseReviews On another note, XHP90 and XHP160 LEDs are apparently cheap knockoffs of CREE LEDs that are supposedly weaker than even some of CREE's oldest and weakest LEDs, so I wouldn't be surprised if your flashlight here is no higher than 5000 lumens despite the company claims tbh, as though we needed more stacked proof of them screwing people around 😆

Forget everything I've recently said and look at Torque Test Channel for a far more scientific and accurate rating for many of these lights, seems I fell into the exact hidden trap the creators of these fake lights intended 💀

Nice straightforward review. At least you actually demonstrated the light outside, instead of just sitting at a table guessing how long it lasts or how powerful it is.

The sun puts out 127,000 lumens per square meter. Amazon advertises this flashlight as 7 times brighter than the sun at 900,000 lumens. This flashlight would max out at 4000 lumens, since that is the limitations of a single xhp90.2 diode.

Is the "battery" two 26650 batteries at 3.7 volts (also called 18800) ?

As of my understanding, it is just one 10800mah battery

Agreed, it’s what they advertise. They actually say 200,000 lumens now on the product page. I’ll take it out of the title. Thanks for the feedback.

Have you looked into amazon's return options? In most locations they have a free drop off spot where you can drop off the item and not even need to package it or ship it and they take care of the rest. I've done it a handful of times at a local Kohl's.

Can you leave charging all the time when not using it?

    • @GooseReviews
      @GooseReviews  Рік тому +1

Yes technically, but that will wear down the battery, it’s best to only ever charge to 80% and never let battery below 20%. Definitely a pain to hold to that, but batteries will last significantly longer doing that whenever possible! At least look into it🙂

    Thank you for the video
    But
How sometimes say 800 lumens and be very strong
    And other products say 25000
    It isn’t logical

I agree. At the time of making this video, I wasn’t aware of that. My hunch is that 800 lumens in that ballpark is more accurate. At the very least, it helps to see it on video.

That is not 150k lumems, the real 100,000 lumens requires a fan installed in it wnd costs $600. HOWEVER. I know this probably cost like $30. Which is standard for a flashlight that looks to be around the 1500 range. I am not against people buying it, but don't expect it to actually be 100k lumens.

@@GooseReviews what makes me mad, is that, It's not even a bad product when you ignore there lumen claims. 1500 lumens for 30 bucks is very solid, especially when you consider maglite will charge you same price for a 300 lumen flashlight. But I just can't in good conscience recommend people to buy from false advertisers. Still a solid buy imo, hope it still works fine for you O:
