Hi Kate. I found you in the last several weeks and have been binge watching was thrilled to have found your very first video. Today’s date is September 9, 2024 , or maybe it is the 10th? I found you on UA-cam and can’t believe this Last Homely House has been on here all this time, many years and right under my nose. Well here I am, here in Ohio, USA. I was born in West Berlin, West Germany though in January 1951, so I am an old timer, a widow with 2 grown daughters and a 12 year old grandson. I’m a retired nurse who loves quilting, sewing, knitting, crochet, books, cooking and flowers. I live in the country. We use to have a big garden when my husband was alive. My dad was an orchardist and kept his own bees; I kept bees for about 6 years and as you discovered, it's not easy anymore! I prefer top bar hives. You are an inspiration and I love your pavillion!

Hi Kate! I wanted to see your first video. You are so charming and delightful to get to know. I visited England about eight years ago and met some lovely friends with whom I still keep in touch. They live in Hampshire. While there, I fell in love with England.
I hope your bees make it through the winter. Dad kept bees and my sister tried to keep them up after he died, unfortunately we lost the bees last winter. She has now assigned me the task of cleaning out the hives and getting them ready to start over. I have been researching online and am also finding different methods to accomplish this task this upcoming spring. That reminds me of something Dad used to say, "There are about 100 ways to get a job done, choose wisely and you won't need to redo your job 75 times before you find what works". Here's to wishing us both success with our bee projects.
Rebecca Foust I will be so surprised if there is anything alive in there Rebecca. It has been so cold and wet. I have a stethoscope and listened in to them both and convinced myself I heard *something* but that might have been wishful thinking. I’m preparing for the worst! I watch a UA-cam channel called Norfolk honey by Stewart Spinks, his beginner videos are excellent. I’m also a member of the local BKA and have done some practical sessions in their teaching apiary. Then I have my beekeeping friend Sue. Fingers crossed hat we both manage to make something of our desire to look after bees! 🐝🐝🐝🐝
I love the way you spin!!! I bought a spinning wheel in March but have not gotten up the courage to try spinning but I think I could do it the way you do!!! Slow and easy and not 900 miles an hour. Thanks for the inspiration. I think I'll give it a go!!

k so i am just going to feed them all willy nilly. I leave all and as much wildflower grow as possible and will let dandelions go to seed before cutting lawn.

I was born in a quite big and industrial city in northern Italy where life is frenetic, air is polluted and noise is unbearable. Now I live in a village near a lake and not far from the Alps. In three years I'll be retired and I'm looking forward to dedicating my time the way you do. I really appreciate the way you live, you speak (slowly and confidently) and what you say. Kate....your wheel has a worn axle. Can be replaced but Ashford changed the design and you might have a nuisance with the fitting to the crank shaft. I know those wheels well.

I have just found you on my Facebook feed and I came to the descion today that I would start at youtube channel about ponds. I am a watergardener and have been for over 35 years, and even though I love it, my FIRST LOVE is my craft amd miniatures and my writing comes in 2nd or 3rd. But my life changed course a year and half ago (not through my doing), and even though I have struggeld on with my old path, it has become abundetly clear that I cannot keep going down it. I need to something else that fits in with this new life I am being forced to lead, for a while anyway until the situation changes again, which it will do, I just don't know if it is months or years, so becoming Tanglemire Gardens is what it is going to be. I shall be watching what you are doing so I can learn from you as to how to present my videos. Congratulations and you seem to live in a place I would love to live. (I am in Australia)

My dad kept bees too and I used to go up to the moors with him with hives in the back and he was also allergic to bee stings!

I'm not only not a quilter but I don't sew .. I do knit & crochet though, but as us crafters all know the joy is in the calm & the communal so this is perfect, I knit along & love your maximalist home & garden. Just a joy ❤

I was born in a quite big and industrial city in northern Italy where life is frenetic, air is polluted and noise is unbearable.
Now I live in a village near a lake and not far from the Alps. In three years I'll be retired and I'm looking forward to dedicating my time the way you do. I really appreciate the way you live, you speak (slowly and confidently) and what you say.

I presently live in Holland but I used to live in Startford upon Avon in Warwickshire and before that , ages ago , was in Tisbury, Wiltshire. Kate....your wheel has a worn axle. Can be replaced but Ashford changed the design and you might have a nuisance with the fitting to the crank shaft. I know those wheels well.

I have just found you on my Facebook feed and I came to the descion today that I would start at youtube channel about ponds. I am a watergardener and have been for over 35 years, and even though I love it, my FIRST LOVE is my craft amd miniatures and my writing comes in 2nd or 3rd. But my life changed course a year and half ago (not through my doing), and even though I have struggeld on with my old path, it has become abundetly clear that I cannot keep going down it. I need to something else that fits in with this new life I am being forced to lead, for a while anyway until the situation changes again, which it will do, I just don't know if it is months or years, so becoming Tanglemire Gardens is what it is going to be. I shall be watching what you are doing so I can learn from you as to how to present my videos. Congratulations and you seem to live in a place I would love to live. (I am in Australia)

I just found you (Jools from Sew Sweet Violet mentioned you, I believe, or maybe she mentioned Gayna who mentioned you, but never mind, I found my way here) and after watching a few vids I decided to binge watch from the beginning!
I am here in 2024 and i only hear birds singing, a wind chime, and Kate's sweet voice!
