Brilliant you caught all three rod-bending takes on camera! Before I noticed your description of your gear, I thought to myself..."Sheesh, that looks like an old Daiwa reel..." Must admit I've never personally used a pin for ledgering - just close-in float fishing on stillwaters - though I once saw a bloke called Crabtree doing so. Tell me, do you smoke a pipe, and also use par-boiled potatoes instead of boilies? 😉 Enjoyed this a lot - subbed 👍
No pipe unfortunately, to be honest everything other than the rod and reel is modern. Line, terminal tackle Boilies pellets and particle. I’ve used a pin for ledgering probably more often than for float fishing.
Old school rod beautiful swim and blaring out the heavg metal 😂 fishing rod sounds right up my street is it an old one or do they still make split cane?
Mine are all old ones that I’ve bought very cheaply and refurbished, there are a few people still making the split cane rods. But they’re not cheap, but the price does reflect on the craftsmanship that goes into making one.
...what a nice fullrun!!! 😲This is a realy rockin' video!!! 🤘🤘
Mantap spotnya kawan👍🙏
Lovely fishing.. what the cane blank? I'm using a chapman 500 ten ft and a ten ft Hardy both around 1.2oz test. Ok for the smaller venues.
It’s a Milward’s 4piece rod, no details other than a serial number and length. But they did make a lot of unnamed rods.
Beautiful bend in that rod! What strength line do you use on your cane rod please? Tight lines.
Currently using 13lb Prologic Mimicry for ledgering.

What part of Wye
Middle Wye, just above Hereford.
Is there some naff music going on in the background to spoil the ambience. If so remove it!
I was listening to The Hu on my phone when the rod went off, it’s not going to be removed.
