- United States President Joe Biden arrived in Angolan port city of Lobito Wednesday in his final day of his first visit to the African continent. Pledging an additional $550 million in loans to fund the Lobito corridor, Biden sought to reassure the nation’s critical ally in the region that there was still support from Washington - even as his presidency concludes. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Florindo Chivucute, an Angolan political analyst and executive director of Friends of Angola, for a look into how the deal will strengthen economic growth in the region.
