I am diabetic so I sweeten my yogurt in individual servings, with Stevia. It is really delicious. This is the best Instant Pot yogurt video. She eliminates unnecessary steps.
First timer over here, I made a mistake and used the Yogurt function with LESS displayed, did not turn out like yogurt, very very runny, although slight tang. After much searching I found out it must display Yogurt NORMAL. Don't make this mistake!
This video made me decide to buy the instant pot instead of a yogurt maker. Brought it home and made your hamburger helper for lunch, made short ribs for dinner, and now yogurt. You’re right about the silicone ring, I did my best to clean it between recipes but smells like the ribs, hopefully it won’t affect the yogurt too much. No one talks about the fact that after you start at 8 it will beep and go to 0 and count up. I thought mine was malfunctioning at first. Thank you!!
I don't know if you found a way to deal with this problem but I made bone broth in my pot and after cleaning the pot and the ring, I put the ring in the freezer for 24 hours then put it away after that and there's no smell at all, try it sometime
Omg yes! First video I clicked previously had such a long intro that I clicked out and came to this one and so glad I did lol her video was straight to the point! Yay yoghurt time
Your recipe works beautifully with skimmed milk powder as well. I use 3 1/2 cups powder to 2 litres water, add 3 tbsps of the previous yogurt and 1/2 cup honey. Mix well. I do the 8 hours and there isn't a honey flavour, just not too tangy. Very creamy like the store bought activia. Once done here's the trick. Place 6 paper towel half sheets over the freshly made yogurt in the instant pot and place in the fridge overnight. This soaks up all the extra whey giving you the same consistency of whole milk. Thanks again for your video. It's excellent.
It’s a great idea, I will no longer stand in front of the stove boil the milk , let it cool down 2-3 hours and then add the culture and then tighten it with my coats and jackets to keep warm all night and pray that it got made the next day :) Thanks for the tips once again
Isn't it great? I love how much it simplifies the process and the yogurt is so much richer and thicker than when using other types of milk and yogurt:). Win-win.
Being Lebanese I make it the old way and it's tiring waiting for it to cool to the right temperature. Wow, I am going to try this right away. I love Fairway Milk as well. The yogurt is so much thicker.
I make mine with first using the steam feature then let the milk cool a little bit before adding the culture. I used this method once but was not successful, maybe it’s the culture 🤔
You can only skip boiling if it is pasteurized, as they heat the milk to kill the bacteria. If you buy unpasteurized, like raw milk, you MUST boil first.
So easy. I never thought of using a flavored yogurt as my starter. I thought it had to be plain yogurt. Happy to buy the small Oui yogurt instead of the large container of plain yogurt.! I have made yogurt for 20 years heating the milk over the stove and checking temperatures... Instant Pot is such a time saver and didn't have to think about anything at all. Thank you.

I just made this recipe and turned amazingly beautiful and delicious. I used the same milk but instead of oui i used chobani plain greek yogurt. Thanks for the recipe 🥰
No straining necessary? I was wanted to make unsweetened yogurt, and am glad to hear the one brand I have access to had good results! Makes me more confident trying it myself!

I found a dairy near me with raw milk and I can't wait to make this. We go through a lot of yogurt. At night we mix yogurt and cottage cheese with some blackberry unsweetened syrup I made and that's our dessert. Lots of protein!
That's great! If you use raw milk, you'll need to use the Traditional method of making yogurt. I have a video showing just how to do it as well. I've made yogurt in my Instant Pot and once you eat it, you'll never buy yogurt again in the store. Delicious Yogurt! And you can make cream cheese from it! YUM
Great and short video. Thanks! One variation we've tried is adding 1 or 2 cans of sweet condensed milk to the whole milk. That results in a sweeter outcome but also introduces more calories so pick your battles, lol. We've also added vanilla flavoring which worked but have since returned back to the basic recipe here. Add honey or quava nectar, fruit and/or nuts for a delicious bowl. It's a daily consumption in our house.
I follow your instructions and my yogurt turned out exactly like yours. THANK YOU. So easy, I couldn’t believe it. I was a little skeptical because there was no warming up of the milk, but that was exactly what I love the most.
I’ve had my Instant Pot for 2 yrs, and wanted to make the yogurt for my son, but I thought it was going to be a lot of work. You made this so easy and I’m looking forward to making this. Thank you and your boys are so adorable!

Thank you very much for the recipe !!

I made it plain, and it was deliciously tart. My questions are: how long will it keep safely in the refrigerator? Also, can it be frozen? Thank you again for a perfect recipe. Oh My... your boys are so adorable! Love for all three of you. I have quick question, how much yogurt (starter/seed) I should add for a gallon of milk?
Ive used your recipe many times now. I cook it 6 hours 30 minutes and it comes out perfect. Thank you. I have a question. Have you ever used the fairlife fat free milk? Would cooking times be the same do you know. thanks again. its so easy to make.
hello, did you mean the valve should stay open? I heard you said the valve should be sealed. I am confused because I know bacteria produce gas byproducts, and if you don't let the gas escape they will start dying off. it's interesting that you did not boil your milk. I am wondering whether you tried boiling the milk before and whether you get the same result and taste?
You don't need to boil pasteurized milk, as that is what parturition is. If you use raw or other unpasteurized milk, you MUST boil it to kill bacteria.
I've done 3 batches with regular milk and all tasted amazing and better then anything you can get at the store. You just have to boil the milk before hand. The instant pot has a yogurt boil setting that can be activated by hitting the yogurt button twice.
I read the comments about this recipe producing runny yogurt. Just saw another recipe that indicates you must press the yogurt button until it says “boil”, or the yogurt will not thicken. Use the lid in sealing position for this step. After it completes boiling, emove the liner to let yogurt cool to between 110-115 degrees before adding the starter yogurt. It takes awhile. Stir in any skin that might form. Then proceed with recipe on the yogurt function. I’m going to try this and will let you know how it works.
You need to do the boiling step if you use regular milk. I was using ultra filtered milk, in which case you do not need to boil the milk. This is a cold start method of making yogurt. For traditional yogurt making, you do need to boil the milk first. I made a video for traditional yogurt as well. ua-cam.com/video/pPLW95a42ok/v-deo.htmlsi=zHxX5qQ4o66r-k9B Hope that helps:).
Thank you for clarifying! Did not realize what difference the type of milk would make. Do you think that those who had trouble with it thickening used regular whole milk?
I like how you get to the point without making the video longer with useless talk or fluff. Thank you for making instructions clear and simple.

God bless you too!
So sweet boys and happy mommy ❤️ thank you for sharing!!!
Hello thank u this is on science exam (FINAL!)
Thank u from Palestine 6th grade
Wow I just purchased my pot a few days ago. Thanks so much!
hello, did you mean the valve should stay open? I heard you said the valve should be sealed. I am confused because I know bacteria produce gas byproducts, and if you don't let the gas escape they will start dying off. it's interesting that you did not boil your milk. I am wondering whether you tried boiling the milk before and whether you get the same result and taste?
You don't need to boil pasteurized milk, as that is what parturition is. If you use raw or other unpasteurized milk, you MUST boil it to kill bacteria.
Yia yia would give this a thumbs up! I'll have to break tradition and give this a try. Those boys are just too cute for words. 😀
Ur boys!!!! ❤️
thank you, you made that video just for beginners like me, easy instructions, thanks!!!
What sweet little boys! They're beautiful 😍

Estas hermoso tus bebes!! saludos desde Mexico
Love your channel. I enjoy the recipes.
So I just did this with a regular gallon of milk..now have to get us to the store..to do this the right way
I've done 3 batches with regular milk and all tasted amazing and better then anything you can get at the store. You just have to boil the milk before hand. The instant pot has a yogurt boil setting that can be activated by hitting the yogurt button twice.
What does it mean regular milk?
@@Lola2012ful Basic milk meaning, plastic gallon jugs at the cheapest prices.
So a gallon for $1.50-$2.
You have the cutest sons! Thanks for the video!
Aw, thanks! They are a delight!
Will definitely try. I’m new at instant pot .
Thanks. Your boys are lovely 💕
Welcome! Thank you for the kind words:).
I made a video for traditional yogurt as well. ua-cam.com/video/pPLW95a42ok/v-deo.htmlsi=zHxX5qQ4o66r-k9B
Hope that helps:).
Thank you for clarifying! Did not realize what difference the type of milk would make. Do you think that those who had trouble with it thickening used regular whole milk?
@@aliciamorris7292 Happy to help.
Yes, the type of milk used makes a big difference.
