    This is a fabulous quilt! Personally, I would sew strip sets and subcut into the smaller units for the sashing strips.

    Thank you for an awesome free pattern.
    I don’t like tiny pieces either, but this quilt I may have to make an exception. 🙂

    I swear this is brilliant! Great quilt design for men... women and children too, of course.🤭 Thank you for your generosity of sharing your pattern/designs with off of us. I also love how easy your tutorials are to watch.

    Love this video! When you confessed about not liking smaller pieces I cheered. I almost didn’t watch the full video when you trotted out those small pieces! Since I’ve liked ALL of your videos and subscribed decided to hang in there and finish watching. Well worth it! Thank you! ❤️

      Aww thank you. I loved the design I came up with so much I just had too. But normally I would have said no thank you! 😂🫣

    With the exception of the corner stones, you could have sewn 2 3/4” x 5” pieces of back ground to each side of a charm square and then cut them down to 1 1/2” strips. This would have simplified both the cutting and the sewing and would have been more accurate and taken less time. The pattern is very cool though and I can see variations already developing from this. Lovely lovely quilt and quilting.

      Yes most definitely! Only wrote the pattern like so to use scraps from left over patterns of mine, but that would be so much easier if you used charm packs. 🤗

    Love the quilt. Have you considered strip piecing all the sashing, then cutting the units, eg 5” strip (WOF or smaller) bordered top and bottom with 2” strips, then sub cut into 1.5” strips - much easier. Do love your videos, have just found you

      While I was watching this I was thinking how to strip piece this as well. But I sure do have quite a few 1 1/2” strips. Gonna need to make this!

    • @MoonkinStitchery
      @MoonkinStitchery  Рік тому

      Yes that would be so much easier! Go for it. I only wrote the pattern this way since I had many strips that were 1 1/2" x 5" from left over quilt projects, but that would be so much easier and probably quicker too! 🤗

    Ooh, thank you for the free download! This is such a nice way to use up scraps without them dominating the look of the design. Also maybe a good way to use up yardage that came in the mail in a not-just-right color.

    • @MoonkinStitchery
      @MoonkinStitchery  Рік тому

      You make a great point on yardage not the right color! I have a few of those laying around. Lol I've also thought about reversing the prints versus background fabrics. Maybe use left over yardage from a quilt backing as the background and a solid for tiny bits? 🤔😁

      @@MoonkinStitchery Yes! Was thinking black dashes and cornerstones, but I think your original way is the best. The quilting choice seems really important, too, to make it lean modern or traditional.

    What color or the block fabric name?

    • @MoonkinStitchery
      @MoonkinStitchery  Рік тому

      I actually don't remember, it's from an older collection many many years ago. (I had scraps left over.) The best I can do is say the scraps are from Moda Fabrics and the background is Kona Cotton in Storm. Sorry about that!
