You gotta be freakin kiddin me! That real time pitch changing is INCREDIBLE!!!
where have u lived
This is what I’ve been doing since Luna came out. And I get asked all the time what console I record on or what summing mixer i have lmao
honestly this videos been my bible to analog summing with luna. I purchased all the plugins in this video because of it. what this system adds to my track before mastering is amazing.
It does sound better out of the gate. That whole thing was why I switched to mixing in Luna.
That API brought those drums to life. Whew.
ON…GOD… WTF…
I needed to see this because I be having crazyyyyyyyy tracks... Great Video Tiller's Salute
I do agree, there is something definitely about Luna. You can hear it. It's like being back in the old days when music sounded good.
I was just thinking about this the past few days. Music sounded so much better as a whole back then. Early 2000’s were the end of it at the least
@@Yungchris760 I think the music died around 2000 maybe a bit later. There was a magic to tape and desks. Somehow the DAWs didn't quite have that fun thing. It's hard to explain. I think maybe Luna does. I've got 10 cores and I'm experimenting with it.
Agree
The reason why is because music nowadays is mixed in the box then artist don’t really mix like that with gear or even know hear existed unlike early 2000 when all u had was gear beside a iPhone mike and phone
Tillie made me laugh and vibe so hard when he was dancing to the track. Dude just has so many good vibes to him.
You're definitely not tripping when you say it sounds better played back in Luna. I've been using it for two years now and barely touch PT anymore. I'm remixing older stuff I did in PT in it and it just sounds better to my ears. Great video Thomas -- thanks for sharing.
Duuuuude, major sauce alert 😩😩😩and according to my knowledge luna is free😩😩😩
Love it! Song is a bangga, the mix is incredible. 1st time heard it I was blown away!
Fish On! You got one here with LUNA Tillie. I've been using LUNA for summing all of the individual tracks & then printing & mixing them in Pro Tools. Cool to see the other way around, thanks for sharing. =)
Shoutout to the christian artists out there💯💯
@kjay that’s what’s up man . I work with a lot of Christian artist hit me up if you need an engineer. God bless
This just convinced me to download Luna
Same here, committed. Can still produce in our other DAWS BUT DRAGGING THE AUDIO to LUNA is an absolute no brainer~~ i’ve dreamed of owning all of those outboard gear representations anyway. And for these plug-ins to work equally the way they do as the actual outboard is crazy.
I was looking at a new Mac and an Apollo interface. I was debating on which interface I wanted but after I discovered Luna I became sold. I wanted to become a rapper but since I started mixing myself I fell in love with not being big and just enjoying trying to get better. These videos have been very helpful and inspiring!
Thank you for this video! That was AWESOME!
This man is amazing.. Dude. I never heard of you but WOW!!!!! This was incredible.. I don't have LUNA! Outstanding work young man..
This by far the best I have seen. Thank you for sharing.
I swear I love the oxide tape on the master
Amazing the vocal!
@ 8:28, you could do a null test with the playback to see if there is in fact a difference in playback, I would render the audio as is in Luna and then import to reaper then do a bulk test between the 2 different renders
So sweet!
Mmmmmm the key changing is kool as.
just WAO!
That neve so beautiful. I realize the harmonics set you apart
Shit so crazy because it sounds mastered and he says this is before mastering... thats crazy
the mastered version sounds louder and a bit fuller but maintains the sound of summing :)
I used luna with ss big six it sounds warm and tight perfect sound
He needs a UA-cam channel
Man Even your mic sounds great
YOOOO YOOOO!!!
Man. Your stuff sounds so amazing.
It ain't you I once recorded an entire record in there and it just sounds alot thicker for some reason. Could be placebo only way we will know is if someone does a null test by doing a bounce of each and reversing the polarity
Thanks for the video awesome.
Cool concept, was just curious when the mix is being done pre Luna is he using any mix bus processing ? and when he's bouncing the tracks from the other daw into Luna is it being printed with whatever mix bus processing is on there ?. Obviously stuff like mix bus compression would react differently when just bouncing out the instrumental then the drums and vocals individually .Would just be good to know if possible, love the channel thank you
He has group busses for instruments etc but it doesn’t seem like he does mix bus other than the summing. His first video was about mixing and it didn’t have mix bus stuff
Nice! I have to look into LUNA a bit more.
Luna is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome
If this tillie I remember when we was in the A and went to his house and mixed my brother song, and we was listening to the migos new album before it dropped fareal
Damn that sounds legit.
anybody know how to bounce from cubase without loosing the FX's ? after I exporting the drums and instrument buss it didn't have the Fxs with it when I dropped it in luna, ?
it does sound better
Its odd how the printed busses into Luna sound much louder than in Pro Tools. I wonder why... If you compare the final Luna processing and the Pro Tools mix, the difference in volume is massive (which can be deceiving).
It's not that it is louder when he brought it in to Luna, But is much clearer, and there's a 3D depth in the sound if you listen carefully. If you ever worked on an a real Neve or API board, you would hear the similarities. That's why peeps still using outboard gear to sum the mix - something un-duplicatable with DAWs until now with Luna.
@@gdrmusichi Actually I mix 90% of the time on analog desk ^^. SSL 4000 or API 1608. So I do know (and love) that sound indeed. So I am one of these peep you are talking about hehe.
But I was talking about the tracks straight into Luna without any summing on. Just at 08:00. It's clearly louder.
And the difference between the Pro Tools sound and the very end with Luna is much louder too. And I don't know you, but when something is noticeably louder, I am struggling to have a proper opinion about it.
But it is REALLY summing (and not summing like most plugins are tell you they do whereas they don't, because summing is made by the DAW) and not just like putting the plugin on the insert, then it's quite interesting (and the only competition against Mixbus32C).
@@WheelieMix yeah i just a quick screen capture and had a look the original was peaking -3.5 dbfs apart form one kick that hit -2.1, and the luna was peaking consistent -1.4 dbfs. amazing how often this happens in sponsored videos so weird 🙄
@@WheelieMix a lot of peeps are finding that audio sounds better in Luna from wherever audio is imported from - which i agree. I am not sure if you have the same experience. It was noted in UA-cam Luna session #25 that it might be the Apollo integration with Luna. It does sound louder. Maybe we can ask Justin to ask Tillie what his set up is. Maybe his Protools rig is set up differently than his Apollo. I do not have a volume difference when i import any audio into Luna versus the original DAW.
Is He Using the Luna Pro or the free version of it??
Cheers
Bro you ain't tripping I heard a difference the second you hit play.. What is Luna? I gotta do some research. Thankssss Tillie Salute
I was gonna say isn’t the mix too hot for a mastering engineer?
Expensive
Ok soo do you have to have Appolo hardware to use Luna? Like can I use it in Studio One for example.?
It hit harder in luna
It's not just you. It sounds better in LUNA.
Can you Commit tracks like this in Ableton Live 11? It seems like you can just Freeze and Flatten but it doesn't flatten groups like Pro Tools seems to
I been thinking about such when I can afford it a mac with luna daw with ua
Luv
What’s the name of this song
Love using Luna, however, I noticed I no longer able to use the summing plugins... Weren't they supposed to be included free with Luna? I have apollo twin x. Do I need to purchase the summing plugins as well?
they changed it to cost now, I think 1 or so plugin is free though. I think it was only free for a while or discontinued promotion. Same thing happened with Heat for pro tools, was free for half a year and now it costs again lol.
Summing was never free in Luna. Oxide tape is free and that’s it.
sounds amazing
🐐🐐🐐
Can you do this all in the box?
Is this tillie who use to mix and master the migos?
wow. wtf...just wow.
Serious question..........why not bounce the whole track from the original DAW and do the summing from the bounced track instead of doing it this way? Is there a difference?
because its not true summing. As you see in the video he put different summing devices on diff channels to get diffrent levels of saturation. So if he wanted to back the drums more than the instruments he can gives you a little more control. Look up actuall summing with hardware you want to track individual channels or busses into the summing device to get the real sound you want. Hope that answers your question
@@qcole8946 Cool, I appreciate that.
@@kennybarnes9055 no problem bro we are all here to learn.
Who the F would call and ask to change the key of the song at the mixdown stage 😂
Corporate called and said they want the "D"
What is this song
Ok so what does Luna do? I've heard about it plenty of times but not sure why after the mix engineers are going to this? hmmmmm Sounds dope too.
did you bother watching the video?
for this kind of stuff (analog summing in the box) is luna better than harrison? (in fact, i noticed that one of tillie´s daw in his arsenal is harrison).
my same question
just reaper
Wait a second lemme brag on my gaahd
Sound like analog glue frfr
I dont know bro, you can hear too much digital push into those non analog plugins
Thats why I use acustica nebula 4.
@@thegroove2000 I like acustica stuff but my machines hate it.. Im more a softube & plugin alliance kind of a guy
@@bedtimeread I hear ya. The programs can be demanding.
@@bedtimeread same with me. But that’s why you should only use the “important” acustica nebula stuff for instance Tim P’s L-Bus(SSL G type compressor) I can’t mix without this thing now its sounds too good!
@@3mpathy717 I use the bx ssl 9000 in all channels and the germanium or the 670 from overloud for "important" u should check it out
Not to be a jerk... but how can anything "in the box" be "analog"? Some things are literally binary (true/false... fact/fiction... living/dead/... Digital/Analog).
who changes the key of a recorded song 😂
Not for Windows!
I wish I could rewire my own DAW through luna or some sort of console variation to sum through. I generally like the idea, but LUNA just performs so bad on my machine
Have you tried Airwindows Console? Not AAX, but I dig Console6 and Console5 and PurestConsole (if you want it cleaner, with less thump). They're all extremely subtle, but the plug-in works differently than most other console/"summing" plug-ins. It's actually mimicking mathematically something that Chris has theorized to be what goes on under the hood of an actual analog sum. As opposed to just slightly saturating each channel, which is cool, too, but not really to do with summing, per se.
@@dirkchurlish4074 Yes I have its good but im not totally sold on it (I know its free). Im just trying to make some points about what I think UAD should go into.
You can I do this now on a M1 Mac air .. because I use ableton as production and record all my vocals in LUNA I do simple eq and compression on all individual tracks in Ableton and slight mix buss compression and then I send my master in Ableton to the virtual channels after that I created a audio track in Luna and it’s basically a print of whatever my master in Ableton is so I’m able to produce completely while recording and taking advantage of lunas features while it’s all synced
@@Tristianwunder Ye, sounds interesting, but what i'd rather have 12-16 stems, and as far as I know there are only 2 virtual stereo channels?
ah yeah too bad i cant use this because i have windows 10
Studio one Pro does something similar... A feature known as mix fx works as an analog console with summing...
bro, you didn't finish it, not to say i heard clipping each time kick hit, i thought you are about to show us finished product, im disappointed. everybody with minimum knowledge can do what you did, i was expected to see something special from multiplatinum engineer.
Doesnt LUNA just sound better because it is louder?
it sounds a bit overproduced to me, too many degrees of digital separation between the artist and the listener, it reminds me of the way people go crazy with Photoshop, now everyone is doing it with audio, it is like photoshop for the ears, in my opinion, people are leaning a little bit too hard on these DAWS and plug-ins to a fault, the artists are no longer the most important element true talent has become irrelevant with the right producer and mix engineers anything is possible, I am unsure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but one thing is certain, there is no going back
Agreed. Cudda stopped at the API on the Master
This is not analogue summing, its still digital summing plus it doesn’t sound like analogue summing at all, it’s just some presets to enhance your mixes with EQ and other stuff but nothing to do with analogue summing and not even close to the real deal.
@@kennyzee3221it’s not a matter of agree or disagree! This is not an analogue summing done with an analogue outboard device, this is digital summing done with a software and algorithm.
Nothing to argue about this, this is digital summing period.
