For an actor/actress who started as an idol be very grounding-breaking without being a visual, then it means they are a big deal in acting. (Hyeri, D.O., Eunji,etc.) Rarer than you'd like to think.

Or hugging part of the body that just make her entire body shape look odd. I'll truly never understand those weird diets... theres SO much food you can eat and still lose weight, like who the fuck wants to eat 2 cucumbers, a chicken breast and an apple every fucking day. So many idols always ONLY have apples in their diet when theres like tons of fruit who have less fruit sugar. Theres so many different vegetables you can eat as well. They always fear the yoyo effect... well maybe if they lost weight in a healthy way they wouldnt have to. Obviously if you basically starve yourself you'll gain the weight back once you start eating again. Considering most idols DO exercise on top of it I really dont understand why they dont do more research on actual healthy diets, get health trainers involved, these companies do not care about them at all if they think only starving will make them skinny. I've been a fan of momoland since BAAM era (and still am). I always buy their albums even if I don't follow them as closely as I use to. Jooe and the rest are so drained and you can tell they just keep going for the fans. But I can't wait until that contract ends so they can be free. It's been what? 6 years? They've given everything to that company just to get nothing. I don't think MLD has tried to support momoland since Thumbs Up era. That was the last era they tried with them in the musical realm. I really want to cry for Momoland.. I have never a company fighting the success of its own artist like wtf is MLD even thinking? They had the biggest hot in the busiest year if kpop, their song was as much of hit as blackpink’s ddu du ddu and Twice’s what is love (I think) .. yet their company ruined every possible opportunity for them. Yeah, they almost never had schedules. No concerts, few fan meets, next to no sponsors. Plus all their comeback's after 2014 had scandal's from plagiarism to cultural appropriation. Then member's started leaving one after the other and that's a big sign of a dead group. A few songs got popular but that wasn't enough to get people to buy their stuff.
Some in the fandom say it was because of their consistent use of bubbly party songs and that they should've changed the concept and sound up after BAAM. Looking back, I kinda agree but I also think it was because MLD kept pulling key members from the group and also the wave of unnecessary hate Momoland had from other kpop stans (majority from bigger fandoms) that were rooted in false allegations. People thought they were b*tchy, talentless girls that didn't bow properly too their oppas or looked the wrong way at their fav girl. Again, all based on false information. All of this ruined momoland's chances at growing a stable fandom after BAAM and Bboom bboom. Also the long hiatuses did not help the situation.

Their comebacks were all repetitive with the same concepts. It would have been great to see them do a bad girl concept or something. Their promotion angle was not enough. It would have been great if they were given more opportunities but, MLD’s idea of making the same hit song over and over caused the girls to lose success. I could really see the members of Momoland becoming endorsement models or something because, that’s exactly they been doing the entire year. Nancy and Jooe are the only ones I can see who has potential in being soloist if they really change their concept to something that fits their strengths.

i really liked BoomBoom, of corse its so over played rn but i really like it back then. Problem for me was, i didnt like anything else they put out after that. It wasnt really about making good music but about making viral music. Super simple dances with super easy repetetive choruses. And thats just the problem. You cant really "make" a viral song. And the company was so focused on doing that, that they just put out mediocre music in the end.
Korea is actually moving away from popularity of idols and the false representation of beauty. You can tell in the direction of a lot of Korean shows are going is towards people with un"traditional" beauty and more personality. Jooe would have fit that category as she has a great honest personality for Korean tv but I could understand that with the stress of what's going on with her group and with her company that she's misled into doing more plastic surgery in attempts to revive popularity when all she needed to do was be herself more on shows. @@len2316 She is naturally skinny, however, she has lost a lot of weight and it's seen in her dancing, often times she's stumbling or struggling to maintain a balance when dancing, so even though she is naturally skinny, she's still underweight at the moment and is even skinnier than when she was in izone which is somewhat concerning.

I remember first getting into Momoland and finding sources saying she was main dancer. I wasn’t surprised cause she always looked so lively. Now she just looks hollow. They all do. After so many members leaving I wouldn’t be surprised if the stats changed
You can tell it’s most likely bc of their company. They haven’t had a comeback in (I think) almost over a year now. Their company was also the reason why some of the members left as well. And their company always makes them perform “Bboom Bboom”

It really seems like MLD Entertainment has given up on giving Momoland full promotions again until their contracts are up. It tends to be a common theme for idols to start losing weight as soon as they might have to re-sign with their company or another company.

I first discovered Momoland by bboom bboom and I was drawn into their lively stages. Later, I came across Jooe's tropicana commerical and fell in to her charm. Its really heartbreaking to see how the company is treating them
I'm not a momoland fan but I can't help but have a soft spot for them after all the relentless hate they endured from petty fanwars. They're always going through a hard time even though they're trying their best...

No hate at all, but I feel like compared to when Jooe just debuted till now I don't recognize her anymore. I've been around since the group came on to the scene, recently I discovered the group's personal accounts and ventured. To me she visually changed a lot or maybe the pictures are edited heavily, regardless she remains my bias because of her charismatic attitude. I just wish to see more from them as a group, a lot of wasted talent. 🥲

I'll truly never understand those weird diets... theres SO much food you can eat and still lose weight, like who the fuck wants to eat 2 cucumbers, a chicken breast and an apple every fucking day. So many idols always ONLY have apples in their diet when theres like tons of fruit who have less fruit sugar. Theres so many different vegetables you can eat as well. They always fear the yoyo effect... well maybe if they lost weight in a healthy way they wouldnt have to. Obviously if you basically starve yourself you'll gain the weight back once you start eating again. Considering most idols DO exercise on top of it I really dont understand why they dont do more research on actual healthy diets, get health trainers involved, these companies do not care about them at all if they think only starving will make them skinny. Also looking thin & fit looks way better than looking thin & sick. They need energy to be on stage as well, its so noticable sometimes how some idols suddenly lack energy or look totally worn out the moment they lost alot of weight when they were already skinny before. "Now I Iose weight bc I enjoy it" sounds very alarming with a diet like that, thats more like disordered eating

I've been a fan of momoland since BAAM era (and still am). I always buy their albums even if I don't follow them as closely as I use to. Jooe and the rest are so drained and you can tell they just keep going for the fans. But I can't wait until that contract ends so they can be free. It's been what? 6 years? They've given everything to that company just to get nothing. I don't think MLD has tried to support momoland since Thumbs Up era. That was the last era they tried with them in the musical realm. But they keep giving them CF's with makeup and hygenic products probably to keep getting money from them. Momoland could've been successful if MLD actually knew what they were doing. Momoland were guinea pigs.

Yeah, they almost never had schedules. No concerts, few fan meets, next to no sponsors. Plus all their comeback's after 2014 had scandal's from plagiarism to cultural appropriation. Then member's started leaving one after the other and that's a big sign of a dead group. A few songs got popular but that wasn't enough to get people to buy their stuff.
Some in the fandom say it was because of their consistent use of bubbly party songs and that they should've changed the concept and sound up after BAAM. Looking back, I kinda agree but I also think it was because MLD kept pulling key members from the group and also the wave of unnecessary hate Momoland had from other kpop stans (majority from bigger fandoms) that were rooted in false allegations. People thought they were b*tchy, talentless girls that didn't bow properly too their oppas or looked the wrong way at their fav girl. Again, all based on false information. All of this ruined momoland's chances at growing a stable fandom after BAAM and Bboom bboom. Also the long hiatuses did not help the situation.
company did a bad job, their promoted songs were always too similar. boomboom was viral and the company thought if they made identical songs they would maintain the success. thats never what customers want though, we want variety and change and fresh feeling content. its nothing the girls did wrong. company even exploited them by having wardrobe "accidents" often, nancy was usually the one they chose bc shes "thicc" so the company knew they could at least get views from perverts. then they relied a lot on scandal and controversy to keep people interested in the group, like the racist costumes in mv. many people who were fans of the group felt uncomfortable giving money to a company like that, so stopped supporting the group for moral reasons, even though the girls have done nothing wrong they are the ones suffering bc their companys decisions
norah Kinda, but it was sort of their thing. I feel like if it weren’t for these other things they could have been famous for this type of concept just like Apink was famous for their cute concept.
Their comebacks were all repetitive with the same concepts. It would have been great to see them do a bad girl concept or something. Their promotion angle was not enough. It would have been great if they were given more opportunities but, MLD’s idea of making the same hit song over and over caused the girls to lose success. I could really see the members of Momoland becoming endorsement models or something because, that’s exactly they been doing the entire year. Nancy and Jooe are the only ones I can see who has potential in being soloist if they really change their concept to something that fits their strengths.

i really liked BoomBoom, of corse its so over played rn but i really like it back then. Problem for me was, i didnt like anything else they put out after that. It wasnt really about making good music but about making viral music. Super simple dances with super easy repetetive choruses. And thats just the problem. You cant really "make" a viral song. And the company was so focused on doing that, that they just put out mediocre music in the end.
Korea is actually moving away from popularity of idols and the false representation of beauty. You can tell in the direction of a lot of Korean shows are going is towards people with un"traditional" beauty and more personality. Jooe would have fit that category as she has a great honest personality for Korean tv but I could understand that with the stress of what's going on with her group and with her company that she's misled into doing more plastic surgery in attempts to revive popularity when all she needed to do was be herself more on shows. You can look at Mijoo who's a good example of someone who's gained a lot of popularity by being more of herself.

I don't think momoland is near to be called flop. Their releases always gain quite amount of views (not as big as their peak Bboom" but far from flopping i think) & kpop now didn't rely solely on korean market anymore. Their popularity is sure decreasing a lot but still not flopping.
