Thanks so much for pointing out that targeting bigger hammerhead is not a probable live release, and those inexperienced in gear and handling techniques also can kill a shark even if intended to be released. Big hammerheads physiology build up too much lactic acid in their tissues in long hard fights to recover.
The turtle made his way on shore during the night. We were camped right next to it. Turtle Patrol saw discovered it at night. You can see our orange truck in the background. Sad the turtle passed away the next day 😢
