      MumNatural You'd also have to take into account that she was doing finger detangling and moisturizing each small section. If you're doing that at once, it will take a lot more time than just doing the style if you have a lot of hair.

      This ^ plus I had shampooed my hair! Usually I cleanse with clay so my pre-poo'd detangling handiwork isn't all undone after cleansing. I know now not to run out of clay!

    I redo my twists every week. I have to wash my hair every week. Can't deal with fuzz , my hair locs after a week and active life style and work environment also weigh in the balance.

  • @kerducky
    @kerducky 7 років тому +1

    I noticed you braid the start of your twists in another video too and my sister does that as well with my niece's hair, so I have to try this, it may keep me from re-twisting as often as I do. The reason I think I've never tried braiding first is because I like the volume twists give in my roots, but I'm 5 years into my journey now so I'll start trying some new things. Thanks for sharing : )

    You are soooooo PRETTY and I LOVE your hair😍😍❤ I love twist, but my hair texture is a mess, it's a mix of a few diff ones, I guess it's like 3b,3c,and4a and or maybe 4b I'm not sure ???? But all I know is twist NEVER LAST in my hair, even when I do mini twist, I still end up having 2 to retwist cuz they come loose and damn if I wash them...they come loose at the root and it ends up being a tangled mess😫😫😖 I wish I could do them like yours it would make my life so MUCH easier and also b cute❤

    yup, my hair locs very quickly. I know I can only wear an out style for three days max before I have to detangle and moisturize. I ALWAYS keep my hair stretched. and I can easily spend 4 hours twisting, and my hair isn't even as long as yours. I always wash one day and style a day or two later.

    please try putting conditioner on your hair literally before you wash out the shampoo and even let it sit for a while...i do this and it works for me ...it makes a difference to tangles ...seems crazy but napturally85 does this also. people usually wash out their shampoo first then put in the conditioner but try not washing out the shampoo before putting conditioner and see it helps with slip.

      Vegan Mommy Madness sounds like my hair all over!! Washing my hair in clay has definitely reduced my knots. So has keeping it stretched and moisturising only at night before stretching. Having parted hair helps too. No need to re-part every time. You can reuse the old partings. X

  • @serenag8568

    I usually do two strand twists and when I take them out, I feel for the strands at the root and untwist them down. When I plaited it at the root like you did and then turn into two strand down the shaft, I am struggling with the untwisting when I take the twists out. The two stranded shaft releases easy but then when I get to the roots, I have a difficult time getting the plaits out. My hair is still short, so I do alot of mini twists to make my twists look fuller. Is it possible to twist them too small? Or am I doing something else wrong when untwisting?

    • @loliatamuno5262
      @loliatamuno5262 7 років тому +9

      when i shampoo in twists and don't retwist after the washing process, that's when I have problems. Otherwise, washing in twists works well for me. i tried washing my hair loose once. Never again! ;) I love how we can all have chemical free hair and our hair is all so very different. I once read someone refer to natural hair as a finger print, which I feel is a really accurate description :)

    • @NaturallyHigh
      @NaturallyHigh 7 років тому +2

      Hey! How do you wash your hair then?
      Trust me, washing my hair loose always leads to utter chaos. The reason my hair was so matted here is that I'd washed my hair with a regular shampoo (twice) the day before. I usually use clay which doesn't tend to undo all of my detangling handiwork.

    • @NaturallyHigh
      @NaturallyHigh 7 років тому +2

      My hair is similar to yours in that regard. It's not knotty now at all.

    • @SnowofLight
      @SnowofLight 7 років тому +1

      I washed my hair loose all the time when I was younger... Huge chunks of it came out in the shower and in the blow dryer afterwards. Yeah, it didn't grow very far lmao
      I'd agree with the above comment as well, you have to retwist after washing (or at least after shampooing)

    • @nothingheard
      @nothingheard 7 років тому +3

      +Naturally High I shampoo my hair loose then I add conditioner in 6 - 8 sections before making those sections into big twists. I then rince out the conditioner and get out of the shower with 6 - 8 big twists. Most of the time, I let the twists dry before I can style my hair. I can't shampoo in small/medium twists cause I get many tangles which make it hard for me to refresh my twists (I have to detangle all over AGAIN). That's why I said that washing my hair in twists does not work for me.
