Im honestly not suprised to see Norwegian Wood or mine. You have impeccable taste in books. I SCREAMED when the notification came in that this was posted. You are divine. A goddess. Ive rewatched this 5 times. Bestie, you rule.
I’ve just come across your channel and adore it. This is about my fourth videos of yours in a binge session! I needed your comedy in the book tube world 😀
Love seeing you back. 😊 Hope the move has been fun and no too stressful. I read Saga (graphic novel series) for the first time last year, and really enjoyed it!!
I also didn’t achieve my Goodreads goal last year, but it’s okay haha. My favorite read was East of Eden by John Steinbeck, I loved the message and the storyline. Im curious about some specific books that you mentioned, will be adding some to my TBR!
I think Good Reads is a great site to keep track of one’s reading journey but not always realistic when setting a goal, especially when you see others hitting 200 by June 😅 I’ve heard of East of Eden but haven’t added it to the library yet, thank you for the recommendation!
My first view of yours - you are sweet and funny and I love your style and the advise about mental health is SPOT ON - if only we would listen to ourselves….
I believe in Reading authors because they have talent and they tell a story that I want to read about. I don't care what race, or sexuality, or gender they are. So that's kind of thing you promote. I will not be promoting your channel.
@@chelseythomas388 I'm sure she can... But she's probably wanting that ad revenue and sponsorships. And I'm sorry I'm not going to support someone who cares more about the authors identity then the author's work. That's the only thing that matters. Quality of work and the ability to entertain. And I'm sure others that feel the same. And if you don't well I'm sorry about that too. I don't understand why you would value the quality of someone's race or gender more than the quality of their work. Their used to be word for that... But they've changed that meaning nowadays.
Hi Chuck. I understand what you’re saying and I actually agree with your stance. However, I’m not sure how it applies to my perspective on wanting to read well written stories by a wider variety of authors. First of all, I’d like to make it clear, I do not make any money with these videos. This is strictly a passion project that I actually spend a lot of my money on. With that said, upon making this channel and being exposed to the book world online, I noticed my own shelves had a lot of stories told from one perspective. Stephen King and Dean Koontz for example. My goal was to broaden my understanding and consumption of stories from all perspectives. That’s what I was talking about in my video. I can still be critical of a story or an author’s work regardless of their background. At the end of the day - a well written story is what’s important.
@@NeverlandBookClub Hi Neverland Book Club. Thanks for addressing my concern. I really appreciate that your willing to have a conversation about an issue. And I too agree think that we share a lot of the same concerns and want the same things. I would love for an artist of any background to succeed based on merit. Everyone has the right to be heard. And I am against anyone that would hold back a writer or the promotion of their work based on Gender, race, etc. For example... You mentioned Steven King. Now I personally do not care for his politics, but I would never want his books banned because we disagree on political things. And prospective wise... If you would say hypothetically, "well I'm not buying Chucks Book right now or reading his book because they are both White male heterosexual, eventhough I might like it, because the share quote-unquote the same perspective, when nothing about my perspective or my beliefs or experiences line up with that of the great Stephen king. I hope that makes sense, and I appreciate your time. And I think you have a very beautiful looking channel. I'm sure it's popular and should be popular for a reason. 🙂
This is why I created this channel, to share opinions and have conversations with people I would have otherwise never met. To address your hypothetical question, I would never condemn a book based on the race or political opinions of its author until I have read that book and taken the time to formulate an opinion. That said, I do also believe that representation is important. It is detrimental in today’s world that people of marginalized backgrounds are properly represented in the stories we consume and promote. How else will we understand varying points of view? Thank you for your comment and feedback 👍🏽 stay lost, keep reading! ✨

Bestie! Of course your book made the list! By far one of the best I’ve read this year and for sure the best fantasy novel! ✨ you are magic
Yesss, Addie Larue was so good, also one of my favorites of 2021. I also really loved Before the coffee gets cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi.
That sounds interesting, I’ll add it to my list 🙃✨
I love seeing Gathering Shadows. Still can’t believe it is out and about. And the cover is just so pretty
Right!? So proud 🖤🖤
You two 🖤 adore you both.

Thank you Kristin! Yes, much easier said than done 😅 I should practice what I preach
Your voice sounds so familiar, I was watching a channel where they were playing call of Cthulhu, were you on that?
Hi Jeff, I was not on that show but I've been told my voice sounds like a slew of different characters from Effie Trinket to Mrs. Doubtfire!

Lol. This is literally her channel. She can promote whatever books she wants. Move along.
