dear chess friends! A).This is not Dragondorf. Dragondorf is 6..a6 or 7..a6 and after the knight goes to d7 not c6 square. B).the black move 12..a6 is not a waste of time but a waiting move like 12..Re8 in a position like Soltis variation, in which position white instead of playing 12.h4 plays first the waiting and very-very usefull Kb1.The problem for black is if he plays 12..Nc4 then 13.Bxc4 Rxc4 14.g4! b5 15. b3! Advancing the g pawn first means that black has to be concerned with not only the h4-h5 plan , but also for the g5 plan.Unfortunately the waitng moves 12..Re8 and 12..a6 are not usefull for black's attacking or defending plans. But 12.Kb1 is a great defencive move for white.So the modern variation 12.Kb1 is big problem for black. BUT black instead of 11.. Ne5 can play 11..Nxd4(Topalov variation) or 11..Rb8(Chinese variation).

Actually, the variation was named the Dragadorf, because of ...a6. Carlsen tried it in some games, but in the end, he abandoned it. In fact ...a6 loses valuable time and allows white to attack more quickly.
The Dragadorf is typically 6...a6, where black delays developing the bishop to g7 in order to gain time for queenside expansion and development, effectively transposing to a Najdorf English Attack side line while avoiding the 6. Bg5 Najdorf main line. I do not think anyone would be calling this variation with 12...a6 a Dragadorf. It is just an alternative to the old 12...Nc4; 13. Bxc4 Rxc4; 14. g4 b5; 15. b3 b4; 16. bc bc; 17. Qxc3 Qc7 that has seen a fair amount of interest in SGM circles over the last 15 years, particularly from Magnus Carlsen and Mikheil Mchedlishvili. See So-Duda 2019 for a rare high level example of the 12...Nc4 variation. See Karjakin-Radjabov 2008 for the only example I can find of a SGM losing in the 12...a6 line with the white pieces (black played 16...Qa5; 17. Bh6 Bf6 instead of Stockfish 15's 16...Rc5). To say even the 12...a6 this line is busted, that variation would also need to be cracked, let alone the entire Dragon variation. But I guess clickbait titles work or we all wouldn't be here... :(

The Sicilian itself is nearing extinction. You gotta be razor sharp to avoid being overwhelmed if you go for the Queenside attack route. White's Kingside attack is faster and more deadly.
Here Leila lost very precious tempo by playing dumb move like a6 ?? and delaying the Nc4. The main idea in yugoslav attack is to sac your{black} rook on c3 in time and hang on white with defending his king.
Playing the Dragon against the Fish is like sticking your head into crocodile's mouth.

Stockfish 16 when I ran this by move 15 nd5 or bh6. If 15. DRG1 it says qa5 and dragon agreed. What time control did you run it @?

8...Bd7 ? is probably already losing I play the dragon Giri variation is 8...Nxd4 and the dragon is still fully playable.
