We should have clarified in the video, the previous generation 'Magnetic Ride Suspension' has been replaced by GM's new hybrid air/magnet system found on certain trims of the Yukon along with the Cadillac Escalade.
Hey ! I just ordered one and I wish I could ask someone how the ride was and discuss further - where and how can we chat more about it ? Im in Montreal!
Nice review. I own one and it does have magnetic ride control AND air ride suspension. I traded up from a 2019 BMW X5 and the Denali is just as luxurious, so your saying it is not a luxury vehicle is off the mark in my opinion.
Today I’m literally trading in my 2019 BMW X5 for the Denali XL. I’m excited but I’m going to miss driving my car. It handles incredibly well. I need the space, though! Edited to add that I also agree with the last part. My X5 is fully loaded with the massaging seats and everything. I do not feel like I’m giving up luxury on the Denali and I’ve been driving BMW’s for years. The Yukon I’m getting has both the magnetic ride control and air ride adaptive suspension as well.
Hey Nile I really appreciate you putting the USD pricing in this video. It actually does make a difference, at least for me lol. Love this SUV. What an upgrade over the outgoing model! Great job as always
Happy to help! You can see how the pricing is quite different though, the $92k CAD for this would be $71,000 USD if you do a currency conversion, but the actual MSRP is $82k USD. The Escalade I have this week is an interesting example of how our vehicles differ, as our Sport Platinum comes with the power side steps, but in the US you need to pay $1,750 for it.
Man the want is strong with this. So expensive. I love how it is old school looking and not as blingy as Escalade but still square and butch and chromy. The new Escalade interior is money, but this is like a comfortable plush interior. I wish they put this interior in their trucks instead of that plasticky stuff in Silverado. Great review. Love to see a review of refreshed Armada. This may really take the cake as far as best new large SUV on market with all due respect to its other GM brothers and that money Escalade interior.
This interior on the Sierra 1500 Denali we did would have changed my entire opinion about that truck. I suspect GM will bring this to the pickups shortly. I'll see what I can do about the Armada, Nissan is usually pretty good about getting their new vehicles on the fleet!
Appreciate your video, you said you would like the XL version .my question is would that long Vehicle will be easy for daily use? I mean for work and stuff? Or better the short wheel base
Depends on what you ultimately need out of the vehicle, and where you'll be driving it. I personally wouldn't want to deal with a long wheelbase living in a large metropolis, but since I live out in the country the extra space would be nice.
I agree with you this looks way better than the Tahoe.. Great truck quite an improvement except for the speedometer Guage cluster .. I wish they've gone digital or at least better looks analog
I agree with the cluster, would have been nice to see something a bit nicer but what can ya do. The Escalade I have this week takes things to a whole other level!
Hi there, we're not a dealership but an automotive review channel. GMC does offer the Denali trim across their vehicle lineup, the Acadia Denali would be the next SUV in their lineup going down in size, followed by the Terrain Denali. I hope that helps.
I have the 2021 Denali xl ultimate package with 2 wheel drive and when I lower my suspension it never stay in that setting and raise right back to normal height.🤷🏾♂️
It depends on which setting you're trying to go into. There should be an entry/exit level which is the lowest, the next one up would be an aerodynamic mode which the car should drive in.
That would have to be something you discuss with your local dealership. Normally if a dealer still has leftover stock on older vehicles they're able to discount the price more than they could on a current model year vehicle.
This had magnetic ride control as well. Its air springs with magnetic dampers. Honestly one of the most complex suspension setups in any production vehicle. The diesel is technically the "base engine" but due to emissions around diesel, its an option with a 2000 dollar price reduction. The fact you have to get a sunroof and 22's in order to get the air ride suspension just ruins the vehicle for me, like both of those features cost a lot of money and I hate both of them. To even consider the denali, I'd have to make a deal with the dealership to swap the 22's from mine for a set of 20's off another yukon, let some other idiot whos never seen a pothole before get cracked rims
I wonder when we'll stop with bigger rim sizes. I remember back when 18" rims were considered 'huge', and now these 22"s are standard on GM's big SUVs. I say it now that rim sizes can't get much bigger than this without looking silly, but I suspect they'll still increase the size every few years.
The Escalade I have this week has the black trim throughout as it's the 'Sport' model. I don't mind the chrome on this, but it would be interesting to see this offered with some sort of darker chrome package to help blend everything in with a dark paint colour like this.
@@jenngentil1306 yes black elements or an entirely blacked out grill would be better, but then again, a blacked out grill on a blacked out car does not allow manufacturers and owners to say, “LOOK AT THE SIZE OF MY ENORMOUS GRILL”
Since recently i find lack of stock for windshield wipers on right side of steering wheel on some cars very deangerous if you didn't get used to it. I borrow friends car and get splash and blinded from other car (you all know that feeling), but wipers didn't move. While i realize that stock/ring is on the left side together with turn signals and set to "auto" i didn't know at the first glance what to turn, push or press to engage wipers immediately. In meanwhile i drove helpless at least 5 seconds(seems like eternity) in that blindness afraid of not to hit something and i think i move that ring somewhere and i finally turn on wipers. I never think or care about something like this until this event and of course now i notice that this SUV don't have that stock on the right side. So this GM trucks or SUV's and all Mercedes Benc vehicles with this flaw are not for me.
I'll admit I did this a few time when trying to clean the rear camera/window, luckily the high beam system is smart enough to know not to activate when the sun is out. This GMC doesn't have a right stock because it's technically a 'pickup truck' and the Sierra still uses a column shifter. To be fair though the Cadillac Escalade has finally dropped it's column shifter in favour of a standard gear lever, and now has a typical left/right stock setup.
i have a 2018 Tahoe with 22" Rims VERY HEAVY , BAD FUEL ECONOMY , HARSH RIDE , Swapping Wheels Awkward , COST to Replace RUBBER GM went from 45 Series to 50 Series on the 22" Rim also Thinner From 285 to 275 Rubber Gm went from 55 Series to 60 Series on the 20" Rim
When you can't afford an Escalade you buy this. I would like to talk to the engineers about what they were thinking when they designed the front. The Denali Ultimate cheese grater grill is a total letdown.🤮

Hey there, you can always send an email to me, nile@perpetualradio.ca!
Finally a review that shows the 2nd row bench on the Denali. I know buckets are more popular but good to see the difference
It's true that those are hard to find, we were lucky at the time that GM would mix up the builds a bit to give different features.

Great Review. I’m not a fan of the push button shifter.
I bet it'll be the same for a lot of people, although the alternative would have been a column shifter like we saw on the previous generation GM SUVs.
This is the exact one I want
It’s a good configuration for this!

Sure is!
This would be about £1000 per year, to tax in the UK. Americans & Canadians are very lucky.
Oof! I mean we do end up paying for it over the course of the lifetime through fuel taxes, which just went up this year.
Cool SUV
Definitely is!
You can always drive across the border and purchase the diesel version, can you?
If you really wanted to. I imagine GMC will add the option for it soon enough, I think it's mostly due to production demands/slowdown.
So if you dont get the air suspension it doesnt come with magnetic ride?
That seems to be the case, yes. The regular suspension is a typical coil spring setup.
@@PRNTestDrive But the 2020 had magnetic ride and no air suspension. ?
I have mag and no air suspension. so yeah, you can pass on the air ride, get coils and the mag suspension dampening

It’s one thing to follow trends and go with a huge grill, it’s another to decide to make it silver on a black car, eeesh
