After a long hibernation meant to purge his body of the Wily Virus, Zero is awakened to save Ciel and the resistance. Zero decides to help, but what he really wants is to have some slashing fun.
Unlike the other run ( tasvideos.org/1844M ) of this game, this run doesn't use mission skips, which means that the author had to beat every mission as fast as possible.
This run from Flameberger improves the previous ( tasvideos.org/1632M ) movie by 00:35.93 seconds. - Ігри

The true feat of this speedrun wasn't the gameplay or the TAS but the fact the guy doing it had to keep his speed consistently throughout the emotional gut punch that is the Zero games. This is still the robot genocide game.

I like to think that this is how Zero canonically does his missions.
I mean, he is a machine with the most powerful AI capable of imitating a human almost flawless. For all we know he also has a very advanced HUD and brain that allow him to think at superspeed.

But he takes so much damage, and kills so little of the enemies...
zero is on some fist of the north star shit with this. boss comes up to him and taunts him and then a thousand cuts and maybe 3 seconds later theyre just in two. incredible
I like how Zero was slashing Ciel, a mere human, with a beam of light that can cut rocks into tiny pebbles with scorch marks, and she lived

Good stuff. I used to think that the fastest way to get through everything was to grind the spider nests in the ruins until your saber was at the charge upgrade. Glad they did away with that in the later games.

Probably my favorite series of megaman games in the series. I love how the gameplay here really blends Megaman, Zero, and adds new features as well

i like TAS where you go faster than the camera can follow
i run pacman world (i still didnt upload a run) but in that game a tas can make the camera go so slow u have to wait for it like 5 seconds

How did you dash on the spikes without mercy invincibility (17:45 & 21:22)?
When the stalactites fall they break the spikes in a small area.
Well, today I learned something new about a fifteen year old game.
in the raining area from megaman zx u can move a cannon to destroy some spikes but its almost useless
its more useful in the power factory to destroy other cannons

dunno how he dashed on the spikes on this tas but on megaman zx there are invincible cannons that rotate when u shoot them

How does zero hit the bosses multiple times without them cooling down?
In Zero 1 with attacks that are meant to combo into each other, like the three hit slashes of the saber, the first hits only give a very brief invulnerability time to allow the combo to work. By using only those attacks repeatedly it's possible to hit bosses very frequently, I fire so many buster shots during the boss combos because I'm canceling out of the combo after the first one or two slashes to allow me to restart it seamlessly. This can also be accomplished by simply holding the Shield Boomerang while slashing, which is the preferred method for quick kills in real-time speedruns.

It is a tas so pretty much an input per frame. (Idk what the FPS of a GBA game is) but yeah
around 30-ish times a second, assuming Megaman Zero runs at a constant 60 FPS and with no framedrops or slowdown to eat inputs.

It's to quickly upgrade the z saber by spamming attack every (maybe every other?) frame; Ciel is invincible, and you need hits to upgrade the weapon level in Mega Man Zero.

Cool as hell to see but getting hit or running intentionally into damage kinda takes me outta it, other than that👍🏻
The i frames let you go faster through spots where otherwise you'd have to kill or avoid enemies.

Honestly really hate the scoring system like even if you super fast is still BS you need to kill enough enemy and take no damage for S rank.
