I don't know how to explain this in a few words, but I think most people just see HL as an old game. Most people who look for HL content or its mods, are people who already knew about HL or were interested in HL mods (but don't want to explore them manually, especially by themselves-- this is one thing about watching someone play-- at least I don't feel like I'm exploring alone). As much as people hate clickbait-like titles and thumbnails, I think that's the only way to draw new people attention when it comes to an old franchise like HL. Even then, some people might skip because they don't know the game. I think Jolly's thumbnail on Hazard Course 2 is perfect, but Jolly probably could say "This is the most torturous mod in Half-Life - The Black Mesa Hazard Course 2.0" or "This mod turns the tutorial section into a nightmare - The Black Mesa Hazard Course 2.0"... and I assume it'll draw the attention of non-HL appreciators too. (Although, I could be wrong-- I'm just a nobody viewer lol.) Unless Valve revives the franchise, and I mean like seriously-- not just releasing something that's (basically) locked behind VR (Half-Life Alyx-- I still haven't watched that)-- I think there probably won't be many more new HF appreciators. (But at least I think Jolly has turned a good amount of people into HF mods appreciators by this point!)
That is about a 10:1 subs to viewers ratio, pretty much normal when I look at my subscribed channels that are active. And now I'm reminded to catch on a couple of his videos.
Yes, ctrl is the only correct option for crouching. But, and that's a big but, c for additional toggle crouch has it's uses. There are situations where you want to stay crowed for a prolonged time and toggle is a good option to have. Usually in games where you mainly crouch to hide and reduce your hitbox, and less to crouch jump across gaps.

Jolly, I played the game when it was fresh and it had different models back then, and I haven't seen these milf zombies, so I'm almost certain this was added in later editions 3:25:03

They were a bit "zombie mommy" in that they weren't really wearing a lot of clothes but their skin was also a sickly green and they were way more visibly deformed, so it wasn't quite as noticeable. This went WAY more in the direction of "zombie mommy" to the point where it's kind of weird, like you said.

I don't why. But I have a somewhat disdain to mods that add weird arbitrary things to what effectively is a piece of history. I have no qualms on anyone using these mods but it kinda lessens the value of the original because either "we wanted to be tacticool" or "we wanted better/fitting/realistic weapon models" or "enhance thing x." This is especially, in my eyes, They Hunger was already a cool mod at its time. Like for sure, the more eggregious and obtuse parts of the mod are definitely products of their that didn't age well to modern design sensibility. Adding too much on top of the original; they might as well made a new mod altogether. I think I'd view this mod a bit better if it didn't tout itself as "modern update of an older mod."
