Its MIP... The brighter the ambient light the better you can see it... So direct sun makes it easiest to see. The 165 on the other hand is back lit AMOLED. (Like your smartphone) It gives richer colors, higher res, etc. But is harder to read in direct sunlight than a MIP display.
