Mixer Fundamentals 2: Curvature
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- The Curvature component is a powerful layer that generates a mask around the convex and concave features of your Mixer asset in realtime. This feature can be used to simulate edge wear, dust accumulation, stylized edge highlights and so much more.
We can't wait to see your mixes! #MadewithMixer

These bite-sized tutorials are exactly what we need. Thanks Josh.
Awesome tutorial series! Amazing what can be done with some creative approaches.
But would like to seize the oportunity to say a few things:
We need is a better way to fine tune the handles!
For example in Blender, when you want to fine tune settings you can hold shift and the handle will move much more slowly.
Something like this in Mixer would be awesome.
Another thing I find annoying is that if you are testing some values and still with mouse clicked you stop moving It counts as an action.
So if you are testing the handles move from 0.2 to 0.5 to 0.8 to 1.0 even without releasing the mouse button, if you want to get back to 0.2 you need undo 1.0, 0.8 and 0.5.
Other than that support to multiple material FBX so we don't have to create and use ID Maps as masks, pls!
Thanks !! I’m really learning better with this !
Thank you for these! They make it very easy to understand and get going quick.
These bite size tutorial are actually quite usefull for a lot of other softwares aswell...
Glad this got re-uploaded. I thought that ending seemed weird.
Same here. It cut so abruptly I wasn't sure if it was me or UA-cam.
*I can't express my love for those!*
This minituts are awesome! Thank you very much!
we needs a tutorial in painting too
Thank you , that was great tutorial , you helped me a lot :)
Great format. Keep em coming, Quixel.
im glad i switched from substance
same here pal, mixer is simpler and free also
I wonder how you are doing with no symmetry painting, no support for multiple materials and bad painting performance
@@AlexiosLair It's still in Beta
Great explanation
very powerful tool and features overall
awesome new tutorial
this one is better Josh, the rock cliff could have shown the mask layers between each curvature mask as youtube compression makes it harder to see but I get the idea. Well done.
Nice!
Thanks again!
Wonderful
If this was an exported mesh, I have to bake the normals first right? so that the curvature will blend with the normals. Thank you
good job
good job
How can curves be used when making more organic materials
Lovely :)
Thanks!and what's mean “the curvature map itself that‘s used in the base material”?“the base material” mean the material in the current layer?
This tool is very good!! Please add subtitles
, I have hearing impairment ,Thank you!!
thanks :)
Oh yeah
Again directorial cut and @ 6.00 I dont know what materials are used :(

Next step: Generate a mesh incl. texture out of it. Thanks to ue5, tris count don’t slow down anymore. 😍
Eureca !.
يعني زي vray dirt
I've got an electronic microscope !
Has Mixer replaced DDO? Havent seen any updates for it for a year or more.
Technically yes, but Mixer still can hardly compete with DDO, a lot of features are still missing.
just came from substance painter 5 yrs , good tut , wont be using substance painter anymore
, substance painter wont be getting my money because there are no so called clients out there in the world its all lies, so im going to stick with this none convoluted user friendly free software ( makes sence i spose allready using unreal 5 and mega scans)
