Yeah the 39.5 inches will be good for when you’re putting a toe board on a job that has a lap set. Keep them all neat and sitting right.
I went the other way mate and started measuring 37 inches instead of 38, it keeps the boards nice and snug especially in this weather. Just got to watch you don’t get one or two of them wider boards (230mm) when decking out though as you’ve got to fuck on switching them out for toe boards.

Bay sizes can still be 2m. Just needs to be 5 boards wide + 3 inside. Cant do 4 + 3 etc.
