Pretty badass trucks! Nice still seeing older WM trucks running out here. The square signboards are pretty cool too. Like how fast the arm comes down on al, of the trucks. Nice little zip too! Great video!
Good stuff in here. I take it recycling either said no or was just to slow to film. With what Scott said about the mid-body turn signals on '002, they remind me of the old school bus turn signals. This place closely resembles the scenery in Arizona City out here; lots of dirt and plenty of sketchiness.
+legodude24652 funny thing is that this seemed like a really nice town. Middle of nowhere but everyone was friendly and nobody gave us a hard time. Same cant be said for some of the other towns in that general part of the state. lol and as for the Mack, when we want to see Mack LE Octos jammin along, we go to Simi Valley. After seeing how well G.I. runs theirs, none of WMs other Macks can hold a flame to them.
I used to think nothing compared to the old Xpeditor 7000s I grew up watching when it came to pure entertainment value, but every time I get to watch and old Octo slam it's way through route I start to doubt myself. Exactly how common was this sort of truck a few years ago? Not being a local, some big haulers who ran these which come to mind are WM, UPW, City of LA. Who else? Real gem of a find Alex, thoroughly enjoyed the whole video. Held my attention especially well considering it's an ASL vid. ;) Great stuff.
+georgewuzheer I think that just a couple years ago, this was Definetly a very common sight a few years ago. Almost everyone ran their amreps like this, and now the only company that Comes to mind that still runs a whole fleet of trucks like this, is burrtec in Yucaipa. Hell, even CR&R ran their trucks like this just a couple years ago. Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Awesome trucks! Great to see that WM thought it was worth saving these Volvos instead of retiring them after they lost Lake Forest. They look real good, probably were refurbished within the past year or so. Sucks they changed the wheels though. 101002 is the weirdest looking Volvo WX I've seen because of the half white/half black fender on the front wheel lol Although 101284 down in Oceanside has the same thing now. Classic childhood trucks here, 101014 - 101021 were the ones I grew up with. Haha 30 seconds away from the yard that's awesome. Drivers operated these trucks really nicely. I'm curious as to what California City had before they got these old Orange County trucks...probably something even older lol What do they have for roll offs? Thanks again for heading out here! Glad the trip was a success!
+WMmaster626 Yeah, it's really surprising to see these Volvo's out here. I would have thought that they would've just gotten some newer autocars from palmdale, or something. I didn't even notice the half white/ half black fender. I wonder what the reason for that was. haha. I'd assume that these 2 volvo's were probably the first trucks they got when they got this contract in 2012. They had a Volvo WG roll off in the yard, and i'm not sure if they had another one on route some where. Thanks for the comment!
+Alex Clemmans Luckily they won't be getting any Autocars since there's no LNG fueling site ;-) And these were transferred there within the last year, Tristen has a video of 101002 in Lake Forest on WM's last collection week, idk if you remember that. That one picture I sent you was of 101100, I guess that must've been the first trucks there. Ooh WG...wonder if that came from Baldwin Park. The fleet manager just replaced three of them a couple months ago. It really seems like the fleet grew quite a bit recently - I'm half tempted to go the yard one of these days lol Hopefully you can catch the EDGE FL soon!
Great video! It's nice to see that there's still old trucks left in California. Did you drive up to California city by yourself? How often is recycling collected? Kinda funny, just this morning I was looking at the California collection map and wondering what trucks collected in California city, haha.
that spare has a cool hum to its sound that I associate with rapid rails in Escondido (the trucks from #208-211 if you're interested). guess I'll state the obvious about the WM sign without the phone number/related shit, and how it looks many times neater/more classic. also if you notice, all three trucks have different mid-body turn signals...not too often that I look at something like that. but it's another thing I like best about the spare truck 101002 (cool old arrow that flashes). funny how they swapped colors (I think?) for trash and recycle out there, not following the illogical pattern WM Santa Clarita and the rest of Antelope Valley goes by for carts. also I'm wayy surprised by how many 30s are out there, wtf is the reason for that? what are we trying to be norcal here?? get back to your 90 gallon stereotype, socal
+Trashman242 I really agree with the sighnboard looking neater without the phone number, or those long facts that they put on the trucks now. I didn't even notice the different turn signals on the body the entire time I was filming it. Now that you mention it, the ones on 101005 look really ugly, and bulky. I'm not sure that I have seen those on an amrep before, but I could be wrong because it's not something I usually pay attention too. Haha. They did swap colors. I didn't even notice it until I filmed the mack for a stop, and we looked of the lid of a blue cart, and it said recycling. Not sure what the reason for all of the 30's was, but it was very fun to see how hard that he slammed them all!
Pablo Ledezma the EVR2 Model is good and tough, but not the best with some trucks (at least the 90s) but the smaller sizes work. The lids are not the best but they work. By the latest Schaefer cans are you saying they have a new model or the M series?
@@DanielWDonuts yea the m series should be it I got 3 of those in different color. My city used to distribute the toters but now they are distributing the schaefer carts the m series ones
What city are you in? The M series carts are good depending on the truck, those get destroyed by rapid rails, I’ve seen it a few times now. m series do work well with ZRs from what I’ve seen.

+garbageproductions1 Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Great work! These look nice with the new paint.
+Northwest Refuse Thanks! I'd agree!

You should see Antelope valley's Mack LE 101499 doing recycle it runs really quick the videos of it are on my channel.

Good job
Actually recently, I got to film both volvos from their yard. Awesome trucks

Actually Cal City has 4 ASL's. The 2 Volvos, the Mack LE,and an Autocar Xpeditor Heil Python
How'd you discover this place? Great trucks here

+trashmaster15 Thanks! Recycling is collected every other week. Amrepmike was with me on this trip.
i just filmed this truck today!!!!!!! lol

So do they have another yard for Ridgecrest then?
+ATSFpony Yes. Mack autoreaches
i was able to film 101005
Ssi schaefer containers taking over
Pablo Ledezma there is only rehrig carts feature.
@@DanielWDonuts oh! they look alike tho but one question what's better the toters or the latest schaefer trash carts
