Wow! It took me a while to see if you had any reviews/breakdown on any K. Lagerfeld scents, especially KL women. Been trying to find even just a little bit because I loved it and it was my absolute favorite scent ever. Do you have any suggestions on a possible newer version or substitute I could try? I can’t afford much, but would be thrilled to find a new and affordable “love”! Thank you for this video description on what notes are dominant in these discontinued perfumes.🥰❤️
Honestly you could try Obsession for Men or women but most people have tried obsession... you could try the masculine versions like Lagerfeld Cologne or KL Homme or you could try things like the original Opium or cinnabar or JHL or Teatro Alla Scala
But nothing is exactly like KL from 1982

Absolutely! I have done a lot of videos talking about some of the differences on my channel ... but basically get the vintage cologne if you can... its worth it 🍻

Just scored a 60 ml Unilever Lagerfeld classic and a 30 ml vintage cologne version ... For 55 euros. I can't wait to get my nose on this as my interparfums version is already beautiful

Amazing video! Thanks Ramsey! I love Lagerfeld, especially Lagerfeld Classic! I unfortunately never had the chance to try Lagerfeld Photo before they discontinued it. I ordered the original formulation EDT in tiny box you showed in the video from eBay. I hope it’s not turned 😂.

@@RamseytheRam I definitely will! I also ordered from a company that specializes in reproducing discontinued fragrances. I ordered their re-creation of Lagerfeld Photo as well. They guarantee if the re-creation fragrance doesn’t smell quite right, they will continue to work on the formulation until it is. They will even allow you to send a sample in for them to get it perfect. ☺️!
They are just using a GCMS machine... problem is as an example jasmine from the 80s or 90s doesnt smell like the Jasmine of today lets say... so even if they know the exact formula it will never smell the same... thats why I dont mess with those clone brands normally
@@RamseytheRamMy Lagerfeld Photo original formulation 5ml 0.17oz mini EDT came in today! Omg!! How was this ever discontinued?????!!!. It smells fantastic. It starts out with the beautiful fresh aldehydes smell, I also get the orange smell, I also get the powdery smell. It also smells like a way better version of Irish spring in the background! The smell is so complicated. Also, taking a gamble on that re-creation. Hopefully it smells good or at least close when I eventually get it 😂!
Just put my nose on Lagerfield Femme (vintage version) - it’s a floral/fruity, airy and summery fragrance. Would be interested to know to hear your views on this. Tks

Hi Bud, The Dior Jules is not for me. I expect to much. You know when you put on Patou Pour Homme how complex it is, and how good it smells, and the quality of the perfume. I'm using a lot 1984 1985 1986 two different 1988 kouros and it is on the same level as Patou Pour Homme. You got to remember it cost 200 000 dollars to produce the Kouros fragrance back then and the quality of the ingredients were top notch. I've just applied 1984, it is so complex and very soft and fortified on the skin. Its like its alive. You need to get your nose on this but make sure its in good condition, cheers Bud

YSL pour homme is okay but the problem is I have so many citrus fragrances and that style never excites me.... Ho Hang Club on the other hand is real nice ... report back and let me know what you think of those last two 😊

just hit buy on a full 48 count sample box, $65 for 72ml.. Photo pricing has indeed gone BONKERS, not to be found at or less than ~$1/ML in the bottle.. Had this one back then (late 80's) and so glad to be reconnected with this one.. this completes the Must Have Lagerfelds for me..

Midnight in Paris, what a bottle! It really is a beauty, I have the EDP 125ml $92 a couple of months back. Collector was having a declutter, another enjoyable wear. KL cologne with the art deco font, that takes me back. I enjoy both formulations the new one isn't too bad ( a dumb reach at times) but it certainly lacks the bite of the cologne.

@@RamseytheRam You know how it is, just sometimes you stumble across them and it hits you like a bolt of lightning. Actually that bottle didn't sell! They were asking the equivalent of $100 and no one bid, I missed the auction deadline and noticed it was relisted so I contacted the seller and made an offer. I know I see the edt on sale for twice that. It's another facet of this interest that is also enjoyable....but then there's the one's that get away.....

Midnight In Paris is one of the only fragrances that I have a backup of.....a sealed 125ml EDT. Wish I had picked up VCA Pour Homme and Tsar when they were going for $30 a bottle.
Yes thats right!! Wish I had the EDP of midnight in paris but they are impossible to find for a fair price now a days .. I like van cleef & arpels pour homme better anyways tbh

But if you are that obsessed about the women's version of KL you should just buy that one... go to enchante Perfumes on the internet.. on the top of the first page Anooj has hits what's app phone number... send him a message with what you are looking for and tell him I sent you and he will take good care of you
Just gotta current formulation of Paloma Picasso EDP. Total trash. But do get the vintages, my dad wore it in the 80s even though it was targeted to ladies. Now I use it as a base to fill up the missing links of my vintage fendi. 🤦👌
Yea i got a 2007 bottle & I wonder if even that was to new... should went late 80s or early 90s bottle ... oh well 🤷♂️

For some reason Tsar didn’t appeal to me ! I’m guessing it was probably the neroli ... I still have about 10ml I’ll revisit
Tsar is a good fragrance but Van cleef & arpels pour homme is a great fragrance 😊
Enjoy your vids Ramsey,have you tried Van Cleefs & Arpels New York? Also discontinued. Has a simular band around it butva square bottle. I blind bought and it is pretty good.
